OK, I know I'm not the only one excited and/or nervous about getting into the Fall 2015 Nursing Program at Inver Hills or any other nursing school in the Twin Cities for that matter. Can you believe there are only 5 and a half weeks until the application due date?! I know it's an even longer wait until we find out in March if we've been accepted or not, but I can't stop thinking about it. I couldn't find a Fall 2015 thread, so I thought I would start one. Who's with me? I've done all my pre-req's, took the TEAS, turned in my application, and now I'm just sitting here waiting and waiting. So if you're kind of in the same boat, let's chat it out until we get to that golden moment in the spring!
I'm from CA, and miss MN solo much. I no longer care about the weather! I've been an LPN since 2006. In MN. I was making $25 /hr as a temp! I was offered a jib yesterday as a home care lvn for terminal PEDs and it pays $16.50-$18. Its close to impossible to find a liveable paying wage here. The population is so high, and cost of living is one of the highest in the country, even though I live An hr drive from the beach!! There are so many families that have 4 generations together in a 3-4 bedroom house! To live in the equivalent to Richfield, rent is $2500-$3500 for a "condo/old house" and average $700,000 to buy!!! People stay BC of the weather, I think its BC so many people don't know what they are missing. I used to be like that. I'm moving to MN whether I get into school or not.
