Inver Hills MANE Fall 2015

U.S.A. Minnesota

Published

OK, I know I'm not the only one excited and/or nervous about getting into the Fall 2015 Nursing Program at Inver Hills or any other nursing school in the Twin Cities for that matter. Can you believe there are only 5 and a half weeks until the application due date?! I know it's an even longer wait until we find out in March if we've been accepted or not, but I can't stop thinking about it. I couldn't find a Fall 2015 thread, so I thought I would start one. Who's with me? I've done all my pre-req's, took the TEAS, turned in my application, and now I'm just sitting here waiting and waiting. So if you're kind of in the same boat, let's chat it out until we get to that golden moment in the spring!

So, I took the test again and you won't believe this.. I got the same score as last time.. just .7 higher. What a bummer! I really studied the second time around. My GPA is 3.27 and my score is 76.7 and I'm not feeling too good about this. Deadline is just a few days away! Turning in my application tomorrow and hoping for the best.

I applied to IHCC, NHCC, ARCC, century, and metro state MANE Programs for Fall 2015...took my TEAS this morning and got 76 with a GPA of 3.25 I'm really nervous Im not gonna make it anywhere :(

looks like the wait is on ladies -- good luck!

I'm on the same boat as you! Same GPA and TEAS, I only applied to Century though. I followed their curriculum thinking it was the same at every school but I was wrong. I don't have composition done yet so I had to put all my eggs in one basket.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU!

Good luck to everyone applying. Jenniferb2005, you are smart to apply to several schools. I'm in the boat with CTN91 and only applied to one school, Inver Hills. I don't fully understand the grading with the TEAS though. The scores are adjusted based on how tough or easy the questions are. So the percentage of questions you got right doesn't match your final composite score. I don't think that's right. Even though I got 81.3% overall, my actual percent was adjusted down due to easier questions or so they say. So if you had really tough questions, you could be adjusted up in percentage. Does that make sense?

I applied for the Mane Fall 2015 start at ARCC. I am crossing my fingers now hoiping that I get in. According to previous score cutoffs I would, but it is impossible to know how everyone scored this term on the TEAS and that is what will make the difference. I only applied to Anoka Ramsey, but if I do not get in this round than I will apply to more programs next term. It is just hard because that is a 3 year committment to drive way farther, so I really hope I get AR for this fall. Has nayone else applied to Anoka for this Fall?

I applied to Century, Anoka Ramsey, North Hennepin, Inver Hills, and St. Cloud Tech (I know it's not a MANE school but I took most of my pre-reqs there and figured might as well apply for their ADN program). I got a 65% the first time I took my TEAS. I took it 2 months later while studying for it a couple times a week. I unfortunately ran out of time on the math portion and had to guess the last 2 pages of questions. I think if I would've finished it my overall score would've improved dramatically. I got 68% the second time. I hope that my new score and GPA of 3.25 are good enough to get in! Good luck everyone! This is going to be a long 6 weeks as we all wait impatiently for our acceptance letters!

PS: I also applied for Medical Assisting at Century as a back up plan just in case I don't get into Nursing right away. Might as well get my foot in the door.

Sailor Mars,

I am currently a medical assistant, and I love my job but the pay is DRAMATICALLY different. And unlike most RN programs where having an LPN license, Medical assistant's don't have any preference to help get into nursing programs if that helps?

Good luck, just keep studying!!

I agree with you Balthazar, the rating scale for the TEAS is kind of skewed in my opinion. Who is to justify what is considered an "easier or hard" question. What might be hard for one might not be for others...you know what I mean? I understand the whole concept of the TEAS testing to get into programs but I think it shouldn't hold as huge of an impact on your score as other things could (if that makes sense)

Jenniferb2005, my thoughts exactly! The TEAS should be scored exactly how we answered and not adjusted. It just seems strange. It would be interesting to see how ATI decides the adjusted scores. Guess what everyone? We made it through another week of waiting. Five more weeks until we get our letters!!!

So I received an email yesterday from St. Cloud Tech and I was surprised to find out they have picked me to be one of the top 80 applicants. My heart was beating so fast, but I am extremely excited! Although it isn't part of the MANE program, and actually an LPN to RN, that is ok as long as I get in somewhere! I have been given the option to retake the TEAS which I will do next Thursday to raise my chances of getting in. They will then pick the top 50 TEAS scores to be accepted for their Fall 2015 start. I spoke to my advisor she said the average score they had last year was 69%. I got a 68 but I want to guarantee myself a spot just in case the other MANE schools don't accept me. Wish me luck! I am determined to finish the math portion this time! Three more weeks guys until we receive our letters! 😁

Sailor Mars, that's a great plan! You'll at least have a back up plan if the MANE program doesn't work out. Although I am hoping it does for you! I'm praying for a space on the alternate list at the least. *fingers crossed

The wait is definitely excruciating! I'm also running into a possible transcript issue from the non accredited religious school I attended 20 years ago. Although if ARCC doesn't get them I may just have to drive to Chicago and wait in their office until I get them. I scored an 84.0 on my TEAS and a 3.0 GPA. Now all we can do is cross our fingers and wait until March 15. My scores would have been high enough for the past classes but if enough people scored dramatically higher this cycle, then who knows?
