  1. I'm a PCA there now and in school working on my degree. I don't think there is any type of minimum hours because there are some PCA's that are per diem. It seems to me that the majority are part-time and many of the PCA's are students.
  2. I did get accepted to Inver!! I can't wait to start the program this fall. The first time I took the TEAS, I only scored 70% overall. I was super nervous and only used the TEAS study guide book. I took it again two weeks later and scored 81.3% overall. The only thing I did differently for studying was watched Youtube videos. There are tons of helpful videos for the different sections of the TEAS test. I really struggled with the math portion and after watching and practicing through several video tutorials, I scored 90% on the math section. Best of luck to you!!!
  3. Regions Hospital in St. Paul will hire new grads with ADN's, but they prefer to hire from within first. It never hurts to apply though.
  4. I was accepted into Inver Hills for Fall 2015 with a composite score of 12.13.
  5. I have CNA training and work at a hospital as a patient care assistant. I did not work in long term care before working in the hospital. As the previous poster stated. Search through different locations that you might want to work at and look for entry level positions and see what the requirements are. Good luck!
  6. Is keeping your CNA license active required for your program? If not, then I don't see a reason to keep it active unless you are looking to work as a CNA while attending school. If it is required, I don't think there's any place that would hire you on for just one day. They have to do a background check, contact your references, and there's a lot of human resources paperwork to be completed. It wouldn't be worth the time of the place of employment to hire you for one day. What about finding a position that would allow you to be on casual call?
  7. I got my acceptance letter from Inver Hills today too!!! I'm so excited!!! Congrats to you SaraG21, I'll be seeing you this fall. To top it all off I have an interview for a PCA position at Regions Hospital on Thursday. Woo hoo!!!
  8. You're right CTN91. They take your overall score and in the event of a tie, they compare your individual TEAS scores starting with the Science section and then the math section.
  9. Is NHCC, North Hennepin? Is that a MANE program too? I'm not applying to NHCC, but to Inver Hills. Just for reference, I have a 12.13 entrance score. Best of luck to you in your program!! Only three more weeks of waiting.
  10. Jenniferb2005, my thoughts exactly! The TEAS should be scored exactly how we answered and not adjusted. It just seems strange. It would be interesting to see how ATI decides the adjusted scores. Guess what everyone? We made it through another week of waiting. Five more weeks until we get our letters!!!
  11. Good luck to everyone applying. Jenniferb2005, you are smart to apply to several schools. I'm in the boat with CTN91 and only applied to one school, Inver Hills. I don't fully understand the grading with the TEAS though. The scores are adjusted based on how tough or easy the questions are. So the percentage of questions you got right doesn't match your final composite score. I don't think that's right. Even though I got 81.3% overall, my actual percent was adjusted down due to easier questions or so they say. So if you had really tough questions, you could be adjusted up in percentage. Does that make sense?
  12. Yes, March 15th are when the letters go out, but that's a Sunday, so I'm sure it will be around that time frame. My GPA for the first semester courses is 4.0, so that makes my entrance score 12.13. It feels like a good score, but I don't want to get my hopes up and be disappointed. So I'm cautiously optimistic! Sorry to hear about your distracting situation during your test. We're nervous enough without someone making it worse. When are you taking the TEAS again CTN91? Here's to hoping there's no distractions this time around for you.
  13. I'm not sure how many apply to the program. I want to say it's usually like about 300 or so and I thought they accepted around 50 applicants. Someone correct me if I'm wrong on this guess.
  14. Oops! Realized this was an old post.
  15. Anyone applying to one of the MANE programs is definitely welcome on my posts! Just three more weeks until the deadline and nine very long weeks until the letters go out. I'm taking a couple of liberal arts courses this semester to try and keep my mind busy, but I don't think it will help. Good luck on your retake CTN91!! It definitely feels a little less stressful on the second time around in my opinion. The first time I took the TEAS, I cried. I got an overall score of 70%. So picked myself up off the floor, studied for another two weeks, and got an overall score of 81.3%. I feel so much better about my second score, but I still really worry if it's enough. Fingers crossed and best wishes to all applicants!
