How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.

I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.

Care to share?

HI i'm Krissy,

21 in July and am in my 5th of 6 semesters of a Registered Nurses degree (which is different to the American classification of an RN). I live at home, am single and no chance of kiddies for a long while. Working part time at a local nursing home- hard work and learnt that i definately don't want to spend the rest of my years working with geriatrics it's too hard, too sad when everyone dies or gets sick and their is little to do other then paper work and the occasional giving of a pill.

Specializes in LTC, ER, ICU,.

Hello Everyone!!!!!!!!!

My name is Kris and I am 25 and married. I am currently in my first semester of pre-reqs for a ADN program. I have a BS degree in Geology and I am currently a environmental consultant. I was a nursing student right out of high school but I decided it would be more fun to classes with my future husband so I changed majors but I have found my way back and I am so excited. Since I already have a degree, I only have 2 classes to take before I can apply to the program. I am going to be a nurse!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello everyone!

My name is Erika, and I am a 22-year old ADN student with hopes of becoming a CRNA. I came across this site last week and I have been 'lurking' since then. I just wanted to step in a make myself known. I work full-time and am in nursing school full-time (yeah, I know!!), but I am glad there is a site out there like this, of the posts that I have scanned, I see this is going to be a very informative, and fun site. I look forward to sharing experiences, and swapping stories/info. See you around!!!

Hi my name is Khadijah I'm 27yr old I have 4 children 2 girls and 2 boys. I'm in my 3rd semester of nursing school I hope to graduate in January 2004 with a diploma in nursing. Good luck to everyone

Hi guys! Im kinda new to this site, but im 19 and Ill be graduating from nursing school this June 13 :o I got hired on a med-surg floor. Also a huge congrats to everyone who is graduating or still in school, everything is worth it in the end, and youre guarenteed laughs along the way!

Hi, my name is Tara....I'm in my 3rd semester of a 18 month R.N program. My next rotation is GIGU. I graduate next summer. I love this board. Im 24 and have no kids. I'm lucky enough to only work 10-15 hours a week. I passed my final on May 5th. It was cummulative. Can you believe there were only two B's in a class of 50. 16 people failed. That sucks but im hanging in their. My summer class is 6 weeks. Usually each semester is 8 weeks. I have 2/ 12 hour shifts in the hospital for those 6 weeks and lecture 8:30am-12:30 pm on Mondays and Fridays. SO its major crunch time. This is supposed to be the hardest classs of the program till I get to Ortho/ Neuro. At least I have all of july and August off till the fall session starts, than its full swing for 1 yr and maybe a few week breaks in between. I work with a psychologist group now and I hope to go into pediatric psychology. Or anything dealing with kids, maybe OB. Well I guess ill think about that when I get through school. Good luck to every one!!!!!!!!!!
