How about a thread that will allow us to introduce ourselves to those who are new and the new students can do the same.
I am Stephany, 42, mother of 3 children, a son 22, a daughter 15, and a son 13. I am an LPN of nearly 11 years, and I am in my first semester of a five-semester rn program.
Care to share?
Hello! I guess I will officially introduce myself...My name is Bex and I live in BC. I am in my 2nd semester of a 4 yr. BSN program. Lovin it! I am taking Pharmacology, Teacher-Learner Partnerships, A&P II, Nursing Practice, and Developmental Transitions. It is a heavy load but very interesting. My prof's are great and are good at making class as "fun" as possible! I start my Maternity rotation in 2 weeks then followup with Extened care. Anyhow Good Luck to you all and I look forward to all your posts. Wink wink!

Hi everyone,
My name is Tina. I'm a Junior at the University of Florida and I'm praying I get accepted to their Nursing Program. I've finished all my prerequisites and am now just waiting to hear if I got in. I'm also working on a Bachelors of Health Science Education while I wait to get into the program. I'm 21 years old and have been married for a little over a year. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you in the future.
:) Oh By the Way I have a question. My preprofessional G.P.A. is 3.0 and my overall G.P.A. is a 3.3. The program wants a minimum G.P.A. of a 2.8 but that is no guarantee of getting in?What do you think my chances are of getting into the program? How many of you got into your nursing programs with a 3.0? I'm really really scared. Any info at all would be a great help
Thanks

i must say, you are an impressive young-adult to be working on one degree while waiting to complete another. with your zeal and your grade point average alone, i would say yes, you are in, but since i am not the one admitting you, lets, see. :)
i do still feel you have a great chance of getting in if the gpa and having all the pre-reqs are a big part of being accepted.
i do wish you well in your marriage and in all of your future endeavors.
keep on striving as you are and always, keep the faith!

Hi, My name is Tammy. I am in my first year. I am working on my pre-req also. This is my first post. I have been surfing alot and reading all the other forums. I too am scared, excited, anxious, and petrified!!!! I am 35 y/o and have two boys, 9 & 14. I currently work in the medical field. but as a medical secretary. I am going to be a RN because I actually would like to work with the people, not the insurance company. I'm tired of sitting behind a desk and talking on the phone to people who have no idea what is actually wrong with a person. They just care about cost containment.
