I want to ask your opinion on this matter. I applied for visa screen, I met all requirements, passed the CGFNS exam last March 14, my deadline for visa screen application is on June 2007. The CGFNS told me that I have expired status. I complained to them telling them of the descripancies involve. To my dismay they move in snail pace. I can't wait to have my visa screen certificate on my hands.

What further actions to be done?

When did you apply for the VSC? Was it June, 2006 by any chance?

You can pay an additional fee to have the application extended.

This is the main reason that we tell people not to apply for the VSC until they are at least close to taking their exam. And the exam date was in March, that is not when you got the results of passing the exam. The results do not come out for at least 6 weeks or so past the test date. So, you did not get your results of passing until sometime in April. When did you actually get notified that you passed the exam? I know for a fact that it was not at the same week that you tested.

ICHP is the company that handles the VSC, it is not done directly by CGFNS, but a sister company of theirs. And as we have stated here in the past and for several years, expect it to take about three to four months to get your VSC, after you complete the requirements for it. Never has been and never will be. They still need to receive the results when they are issued, they do not get special preferencial treatment in that.

There is absolutely nothing to be done. You need to wait with everyone else to get this certificate. There has been no delay on their part.

You are dealing with when you took the exam, not when the results came out.

Thanks Suzzane. I'm emotionally wreck these days because I have been notified that I passed the CGFNS exams last April in which I took it last March 14,2007. I purchase the VSC last June 2006. They gave me a 12 month deadline, that would be on June 06,2007. Since I could get it in 4 months time okay I will wait. I will not yet apply for another extension fee.

Thanks. I will just follow up every night, my money went to nothing if they would not honor that I had I all duly comply the requirements.

Sorry, but you are not understanding what I am telling you. They do not give you a date that they will issue the VSC by. Average length of time is four months from when they receive all of the results. You keep using the March date, but that is the day that you tested, not when the results were issued. Four months from when that was issued, if it was your last item to be submitted. If you get it earlier, then great. But do not count on it before then.

The other issue is that you submitted the application to ICHP too far in advance. We always tell nurses to wait until they know when they are actually testing. The application used to be good for two years but they changed that last year to just the one year.

i was wondering why your visascreen is still not available...i applied mine last april 14,2007 thru the net and then got my visascreen on the 28th, it was quicker than having my CGFNS Certificate...

I would say the answer is yes. If file is valid for 12 months and you have not completed everything in the 12 months then would be a case of pay. But if you completed everything within 12 months but cutting it close to the date then it should be a case of wait for certificate which can take a few months

Hey, how about your IELTS exam? When did you pass? They will not issue you a Visa Screen Certificate if no IELTS result submitted to CGFNS.

My English exam was already accepted by the ICHP declared passed. This is just the situation wherein they didn't yet gave to me my VISA SCREEN certificate. As mention on the above data that as you ponder I have really met the deadline. What to do next?

Hello. I applied for my VSC last April 2006. I took and passed the NCLEX last March 2007 (earlier than yours). I passed my IELTS last year. I still don't have my certificate. But, CG hasn't notified me yet of expiration of application nor an application for extension.

Give it until August-September. For the meantime, just pay for the extension if they already notified you.
