URC - Merge review center for local NLE comments and reactions

Hi, I am a graduating student this coming March 2010. I am planning to take my local (Philippines) board exam. Is URC + Merge located at Makati Guadalupe Complex a good review center ? What makes them good ? Facility ? Reviewers ? Schedule and etc ?

Any other review center that one can suggest ? I did not have a good background on my fundamentals and I am not so good at Anatomy ... I am looking for a review center that can help me enhance my short comings.

Thank you.

Greetings of Good Health Future RN! I myself am a product of MERGE Review Center. I finished my BSN last year and took my NLE in Lucena City June of the same year. Happy to say, I passed with only one take. MERGE has a good track record. I personally researched several review centers as to their track record (MERGE has had several Number 1's and top 10's consistently these previous years) and also the number of hours for the review program (the whole program takes around three months, other review centers have less), and most importantly the cost (TIP: divide the total cost to the number of days for their program to get the cost per day and compare them with the other review centers). Another factor would be their personnel who are very willing to help and would re-explain concepts which are still unfamiliar to you.

Anyway it still is your decision. shop around an compare with other centers.

Thanks for your reply ... :yeah:

:uhoh3: I am still looking though, but right now URC+Merge is my #1 choice. I visited their Makati branch, and I was impressed with their classroom. (Super Clean!!) :redpinkhe:D

I also visited the Quezon City (main branch), unfortunately the place was not for me ... I would not be able to be in the right mindset, if you happen to review at the said venue you know why.

My Choice at the moment: (2 more weeks to decide :heartbeat)

# 1 URC + Merge (Makati, Guadalupe) {www.urc.ph} {www.merge-review}

# 2 Narri Quezon Avenue, just after Cordillera St., a block away from Merge Quezon Ave.

# 3 Carl Balita

# 4 SeaMed

# 5 Sultan (SRG)

# 6 CENE

# 7 Pentagon {downside -- they can not promise the set time of their schedule}:eek::confused:

Previous Reviewer and current RNs ... Help !!

Need more feedback ... thank you :nurse:

I'm a passer from SeaMed. But I still recommend Merge.

You can also check St. Thomas review center. A lecturer there is an Ex-Merge lecturer.

I highly recommend MERGE...my friend (a June 09 Topnotcher) will be teaching there soon :D

Anyone has an experience reviewing with Kaplan for their Philippine NLE ? Please give some feedbacks. Thanks

i'm a passer from PENTAGON last Nov, 2009 and definitely they are the best!:D because I stopped my studies for 2 years and and last year luckily I continued my career and graduated from summer duty(my lacking subject). then went to pentagon for NLE review and the rest was HISTORY.. proud to be Pentagonian! :D

i graduated 2 years ago and finally sat for the nle exam just last november (which i successfully passed). anyway i took the kaplan nle refresher course and shifted to merge right after.

kaplan gives out complete reviewers. while merge helps you practice taking exams. so if you are short of the fundamentals, kaplan can teach you everything. merge only teaches the basics but they can actually guide you to what you should only study. so if you are very hardworking and dont want to miss out anything, go for kaplan. but if you only want to study what you only need, go for merge.

Specializes in ER / RENAL / ICU.

I'm a product of merge too. It's a good review center - especially the part about fundamentals of nursing. You have to consider that a review center is only part of an equation to pass. A bigger factor would be the student himself.

hmm.. passed d exam last dec 2007 northcap santa mesa....

any way, pray ,luck, review be confident ,review centers actually matters but just be confident in taking exam... good luck

Fast forward .......

I passed the NLE =)

I chose NARRI -- by the way I passed with flying colors.

I did not regret choosing them, we were spoiled all throughout the review. Final coaching was at Tanay, Rizal in a resort ... unlimited food, air conditioned rooms, swimming pools, and the best place to unwind before the exam.

We were only 22 in a class.
