Is there a US-Philippines nursing reciprocity? I mean, if you graduate here in the US and take the boards here, do you need to take the board exam in the philippines? I will truly appreciate your reply

If you wish to work in the Philippines, you will need to take their NLE. Same way that if you wish to work in the US, you must take the NCLEX exam.

Yes, if you want to work in the Philippines, you have to take the NLE---although, I saw on television before that there are a couple of circumstances where a nurse licensed in another country (other than the Philippines) may be able to function as an RN without the need for a Philippine license---an example of this would be those RNs working in the Philippines doing a medical mission, or someone who is a "guest professor" or lecturer licensed as an RN in another country but is in the Philippines for a limited speaking engagement. You can do more research on this or confirm this if you're really interested. However, should you wish to work as a staff nurse in the hospital, then you should have a Philippine license.

volunteer and those who are on a medical mission and also those who are education (exchange) they are allowed to practice nursing in the philippines without taking the NLE, BUT ONLY FOR A SHORT PERIOD" per approval of the Philippine Board of Nursing..... but to work, yuou are required to take the board exam

I am a Nurse in the Philippines and I just passed my Nclex examination recently last Sept. 16, 2008 for a license in Vermont. I also succesfully passed my Ielts last october 21, 2006. Honestly I have no plans to work in Vermont, rather I am planning to work in New York where in my brother is now working. My question is my Ielts will be expiring very soon. What am I going to do? My brother suggested that I need to finish the requirements for my visa screen application first and hopefully my requirements especially my ielts will be received asap before it expires. Did I do the right procedure? Can I still make it so I would not anymore take again the ielts exam. Also, I am quiet confused on the endorsement of license of Vermont to New York. Please Please give me instructions on how can I work in NewYork even if my license is in Vermont. Do I need to also sign up for a new account on the credential verification service for New York though I have already an existing account made for my visascreen. I need all of your knowledge on this Suzanne! thank You so much!
