I received my eligibility from CALIFORNIA and VERMONT what shall i do?

Suzanne, i have eligibility from CALI and Vermont.... however i am planning to use vermont first... is it ok? will i not encounter a problem? if i will not pass the vermont nclex, how soon can i use my california eligibility? or can i still use it? california is giving me 1 year to register.... and vermont on the otther hand only gave me three months to register... thanks

It costs what ever each state charges. None of the same information is used, they are completely separate applications.

I would definitely use the Vermont route, they will issue you an actual license. And I do not recommend even considering using the CA route at all. No matter what happens.

I am finding is quite amazing that many of you state that you do not have money for this and that, but yet are willing to just throw it around. It is one thing do apply to two states because you did not know about things being faster in one area, or very slow when using a particular state. But to just go ahead and throw out good money for no reason makes absolutely no sense at all. And especially if you were warned that CA takes a few extra months to get things done, and you go that route, then you should just wait.

There are many children's charities that can use the money. same thing with taking the NCLEX exam over and over without preparing properly for it in the first palce. Utterly insane.:o

They were not done at the same time, if you think about it. CA takes about six months and Vermont only about one month. They did not know in the beginning that it was much faster to go to a state that does not take as long and that issues a hard license. They wanted to get things done quicker and have a license that could be endorsed right away.

If you will do a review of the many, many threads here, you will see all of the infmration that you are looking for.

Why would you ever want to register with a state that will take in average six months to give you the ATT, then take another month to give you results? You know the answer to that.

Ethan, if you go thru the forum you'll notice that some posters applied for CA but wished they have applied to another state if only they discovered this site before making the decision. Some, either just go ahead and go thru with it 'coz he figured he'll be wasting more money and going in circles if he applies and start another application and doesn't want more complications while others go ahead and start another application because they can afford to (well... for some) and just worry about the possible conflicts (if there are) later on.

However, there are also posters that have the luxury of reading all the posts here before making the decision and if you read them well there are really a lot of alternatives. YET.... they still go ahead (some) w/ their original plan and insists on doing it their way (this is not just regarding State BON application but other more problems). Then when the time comes... they go back here and ask for help. This time around more complex of a problem that needs to be solved that could have been averted if they have listened in the 1st place. That is what is so frustrating about it for people who help.

thanks Suzanne i will follow your suggestion.. i will use the Vermont route....... last.... will i still be able to use california if ever i did not make to to vermont nclex?.... please wish me luck
