Anyone move to Canada from the States?

I'm looking around for nursing schools at the moment, and my girlfriend and I are strongly attracted to Canada. I'm English by birth, and she spent much of her childhood in Europe; we both feel like Canada is the best of both worlds. Has anyone around here moved to Canada to go to nursing school, and then stayed on?

I'm trying to figure out, most of all, how I would finance it. Can I use US financial aid, for instance?

Hi there..

.

I wondered why you are attracted to Canada. Do u have any good reasons to support ur move. I read so much about canada and usa etc.

bye for now, all the best PD.

ChrisA,

Being Canadian and having done my BSN and MSN in the US and using the American financial aid system, I doubt they would let you use their money to go to a Canadian school, especially if you were not an American citizen (which limits the financial aid you can qualify for in the first place). Good luck in your studies, and welcome to Canada!

Hi,

Where did you obtain your MSN? Was it through continued studies or part time? I am seriously contemplating this and would love to ask you many more questions.

Many thanks,

Sarah

Hi Sarah,

I did my BSN through a distance ed program at St.Joseph's college in Standish, Maine and loved it. Then did my MSN at the University of South Carolina, I was working a full-time weekend job and going to school full-time. Yes it was hectic for 2 years but done quickly!
