Info on Billings Hospitals?

Specializes in med/surg, rural, ER.

My husband and I are interested to moving to the Billings area. I heard there are two hospitals there. Does anyone have any input on what they are like and which one is better? I am an ED nurse, so info specifically on the EDs would be great but I also am looking for info on the hospital environments in general--are nurses happy there?

The 2 hospitals are Billings Deaconess Clinic Hospital (owned by the Billings Clinic MD group) and St. Vincent's Healthcare Center (owned by the Catholic Church). Suggest you check their websites for more information.

I worked at both but that was over 20 years ago. At that time both were excellent facilities and gave great patient care. St. V's had a more active ER with both helicopter and fixed wing emergency services. But I believe Deaconess now has a very active ER and possibly flight services. Since the hospitals are about 3 block apart and the only games in town, competition is strong. You really need to visit each and see which would be the best fit for you.

Billings is a great town, I miss it alot. Good luck.

I work at the Billings Clinic and we were just recognized for our Magnet status. If you don't know what that is, you should! Our ED is hiring right now. Good luck.

I worked at St V's for 4 years med surg ,womens unit and in the ED. This is hospital has the greatest MD's and nursing staff. The director of the Ed is an awesome woman. She stands besides her nurses. Best of luck.Victoria;)
