Hello, I'm an LVN in southern california. I would love to go back to school and get my RN but can't afford to leave my full time job. I've heard of "Indiana State University" long distance program. Anyone in this program? How are you doing in it? Do you recommend it? THANKS !

Hi Betty. I'm going to move your post to the Distance/Online Student forum. There is a stickey at the top of the page. Here is the link: https://allnurses.com/forums/f125/indiana-state-university-bsn-students-248029.html
Good luck to you in all that you do.

Hi Betty my goal is to do do the LVN to RN BSN program from ISU. I met with TCN and got all the info needed to be on my way ( I did not sign with them though). I ordered my 1st clep book intro to sociology Im hoping to get in within the week so I can start right away. I have not seen anything posted from anyone that is either in the actual nursing part of the program or that has obtained thier degree already.
I did read the whole sticky thread mentioned in above post and found it very helpful and ansered alot of questions that I had.

I am also in California and enrolled in the LVN to BSN program through Indiana State. For me it works because I am the mother of 3 kids, I work Full time and I can study when I want. I have completed two of my courses so far and as long as you are disciplined enough to study alone it's worth it. I don't know anyone yet who has completed the program though, but I do know it is the ONLY distance learning program approved by the California Board of Registered Nurses. You can see it on their web site.
Good luck!

pink, are you already in the program (phase 2)? I'm 99% sure I'm starting it in January and was curious what the first semester is like. They had their admissions meeting the 28th and when I called the lady told me "I'm not sure if I can tell you over the phone or not but its good news." So I assume that means I'm in. Anyway, I'm anxious to know how the first semester works, when clinicals start, etc, etc.

I'm curious to know how long would this program be for someone with a bachelors
degree but without the science prereqs. I'm not even sure if it's accepted in NY!!

Hi everyone, I'm a newbie here. I just passed the nclex-pn, last month. I was hoping I could bridge at my cc but seats are limited and I can't wait. Just relocated to IL from Atlanta, and I want to continue schooling. I am looking at excelsior or indian state university. How do I get the College Network study guides? Where do I get clinical experience? Anybody have advice for me? I don't know if the board of nursing here in IL will accept either degrees. I will call tomorrow to see if I can get anyone to talk to, so far I have not been able to talk with a live operator. Thanks in advance for any info you can provide:)
