Here's a new sticky for students involved in online/distance BSN programs through Indiana State University. Enjoy!
Yep. I posted it and asked for a sticky but it didn't get stickied. I don't have the file handy anymore but if you go under my name where it lists posts I've made it will be there. I forget the subject line but it should be obvious when you see it. :) HTH!
Chaxanmom - do you recall where you got this list from? I found the post *thank you* but I'm confused, I contacted the Missouri BON and they said it wasn't approved, but this list says that it is. I am hoping that the list is correct. Is it possible that a specific person at the BON just might not recognize it as approved?

I got it directly from Kim Cook. It's dated Sept. so information may have changed since then OR the BON person could be wrong. That's what happened with MD board too so that's totally possible. ISU wasn't on their list but they had all the paperwork saying they were approved so the hospital took it. I think it just takes awhile for paperwork to get documented everywhere. Ask ISU when Missouri got approved. Maryland was just approved in May.
Just wanted to give some info to anyone considering ISU from Missouri. I just received an email through the BON stating that they do not allow ISU but do allow EC. I am disappointed because I really wanted to do it this way, but at least there is another option for us. Thanks all.
I want to apologize, I have contacted Missouri BON again and was told that, yes, they are accredited through Missouri but I would have to take my boards in Indiana and transfer my license to Missouri. Thanks Chaxanmom for the list, I was able to reference this when speaking to the BON and this made her look a little deeper. I'm ISU bound again!

Is this just a Missouri thing? I hope not everyone has to go to Indiana to take boards..... I checked on CA bon website and do know that ISU is accepted but it didn't mention having to travel outside of CA for nclex.

I'm sorry, I can't speak for other states. BON rep stated that I had to test in Indiana and endorse over to Missouri. I guess that might be a good question for your BON. Or if there are any nurses that have graduated from ISU that might be able to give us some input. That seems to be more consistent information than even the BON. Input ladies and gentlemen?
Where do you get the course content for nurs106,nurs224,nurs328 and nurs330. Is this info available to you once you enroll for phaseII?
Once you are enrolled in the college of Nursing they will give you access to Blackboard for the Nursing Challenge Course and the info is listed under there - then to access tests you have to have a key code from your proctor once you have paid for the first half of the testing fee - which is based on the number of credits - they will let you know how much to pay- then you take the test and if you pass you pay the other half if not you have one more shot at it and if you pass you pay if not you have to enroll in the class - it really is a a pretty simple process once you enroll - they will walk you through it.

You may take the IN test but I don't think you have to physically go to IN. The reason is that for my NCLEX-PN I went to school and was initially licensed in CA but I was in OH for the test and took it there...but it was for a CA license, not an OH license. Does that make sense? So there must be a way to not have to travel to IN.

Ok thank you it does make sense. It is nice to know that there are ways around the expensive study guides.....lol And also to know that it is not a one shot deal with the test.

I understand what you are saying that if you are not a student hey won't start a clinical contract. But are you and "enrolled" student during phase II? Will they start the contract then? I would be afraid that If I waited till I enroll in classes for phase III ready have a clinical site and it took them a few month to set up or worse case senerio they don't get it done, then it would be a fail for those initial classes because clinicals were not done.If the classes are on the traditional track they would be 3 months or so, wich means that if it could take up to 6mo for contract the classes would be over.... Did that make sense?
