Ivy Tech Spring '10 Applicants

U.S.A. Indiana

Published

This is the "Not In" thread, or for anyone that's planning on applying for Spring Semester by the Sept 1st deadline.

We need love too! :loveya:

My Boring Stats:

A's in prereq's except ANP 2...taking that class now.

Horribly embarrassing TEAS at 76, still have two more tries. (Which is why I'm taking math and phys sci this summer. lol)

Hope to get into the Bloomington or Terre Haute programs. (Yay! Greene county gets region pts at both. lol)

Currently frazzling myself out with 5 online classes

It's nice to meet you....whoever you are....

Sunny,

Be patient regarding the schedules. Not everything is set yet and part of being in nursing school requires flexibility and patience. Clinical sites haven't been determined yet since the hospitals are slow to get back. Classes don't start until January and always remember what is in Campus Connect is not always correct. Clinical times can change at last minute due to site availability. Classroom times usually are accurate, but in my experience clinicals aren't. Best of luck!

Hey newrn2009-- I understand that we have to be flexible. However..I have to have aid in order to take my classes--if I have no classes scheduled --I have no aid..does that make sense? That is why I am freaking out

Davilyn and Sunny--It must be so frustrating not to have your schedules yet! I know how "on the hook" you feel when you're not sure what your weeks are going to look like and how you're going to make everything work. I would give them a few more days and maybe call on Friday or send an e-mail to find out what the status is. I'm sure if you ask nicely, they won't mind giving you a status update of some kind. I was like a kid waiting for Christmas to get my schedule, so I totally know what you guys mean!! Hopefully you'll get something soon!

I know, I'm just worried about financial aid and stuff...the financial aid deadline was November 15th...when I log into campus connect it still says "not registered for term"...hopefully that doesn't mean that i won't get any

I have about four people in my Physio class that have not gotten their schedules yet. One girl was told not to freak out because everyone had been mass registered, they are just behind in putting it into the computer system. So the clinical spots that you see left on there, don't really mean anything, or at least that's what the lady in the office said. Also, financial aid is reviewed on a weekly basis, all the way up until January 20th, and then once again when they officially pay for your classes, so there is no need to freak out about that either. Remember the lady said that they "should" be up before Thanksgiving, so I would wait until after then to ask. We are all so anxious, but we should be relaxing. We haven't even started the hard stuff yet. There will come a time when we will wish that we had silly things like schedules, vaccinations, and supplies to worry about. Like when we have to read 700 pages, and prepare for three test and clinicals all in one week. We should all feel proud of ourselves. There are soooooo many people that I know who have been trying to get into the program. We truly are a select few. We have been accepted, we have two months to enjoy the holiday season, what more could we ask for. :D

Sunny, I looked on campus connect and there are still 18 spots "open" in clinicals for Indy. So that means there are 18 people who for some reason have not officially been registered yet in the system, even though the nursing chair says that all spots have been "filled." Who knows why it is taking so long to finish it up. . . I don't know if that is an issue with the nursing office or the registrar's office--who actually inputs the registration information, you know? I think maybe the nursing office sends the whole batch of registration forms down and then somebody in the registrar's office inputs them, or something like that. But who knows really? For whatever reason, no clinical spots in the Hendricks county section have been scheduled yet, and then there are various spots in other clinicals not scheduled yet. In any case I sure do hope that this delay does not affect your financial aid at all. Keeping fingers crossed for you!

jm625, crazylife2 (karen), chwalden (catherine)??? any of you guys get scheduled yet? you're on the list i had started back when we all got indy acceptance letters, but we haven't heard from you yet.

I don't know why that went up there, and two times. I think it is confused, lol.

Hi everyone! Sorry, it's been awhile and had to get caught up on here. Has anyone ordered those shoes that were mentioned in a few threads back? They look really comfy...just trying to decide whether to order from that site or not. I got my physical done and the 1st TB step done and gotta get the 2nd one end of this week. My schedule is posted and I got Westview Hospital on Fridays...anyone else scheduled there?

I have to worry--see my classes are paid for by a third party--they have a deadline of when they have to submit my funds. They will not approve any funding without a schedule....so....I do not know what to do. I tried to call and left a message explaining my situation. I emailed about two weeks ago and have not had a reply. I know it is all part of it..but I am really nervous about the funds.
