Ivy Tech Spring '10 Applicants

Published

This is the "Not In" thread, or for anyone that's planning on applying for Spring Semester by the Sept 1st deadline.

We need love too! :loveya:

My Boring Stats:

A's in prereq's except ANP 2...taking that class now.

Horribly embarrassing TEAS at 76, still have two more tries. (Which is why I'm taking math and phys sci this summer. lol)

Hope to get into the Bloomington or Terre Haute programs. (Yay! Greene county gets region pts at both. lol)

Currently frazzling myself out with 5 online classes

It's nice to meet you....whoever you are....

Thank you MistyMiss, I finally got a student advisor to tell me that he thought that was the case but he wasn't sure. That is a relief!:yeah:

Woooh now I'm confused. Do you have to apply to each and every campus you might want to attend? So say I want to apply to Lawrence, Muncie and Anderson, do I submit an application to all 3 schools?

You submit a nursing application to all locations you might want to attend when you apply to the nursing program, but you only apply to Ivy Tech once. Does that make sense?

Wifey--Well, you have to apply to every region you want to be considered for. (I assume you were talking specifically about applying for nursing school) Some regions have more than one campus, such as the East Central Region (region 6)which includes Muncie, Anderson, New Castle, and Marion. the Central Region (region 8) only has the Lawrence campus for nursing. Some if not all of the campuses in the East Central region don't even have the ASN program starting in the spring (I was going to apply there until I found out that they don't even have a spring ASN at Anderson).

So, you would need to apply to Lawrence (Region 8) and then also to Region 6, in which case you have to mail or deliver your application material to the Muncie nursing office. From what I understood after attending an info session at Anderson, was that all applications go to Muncie, and then if you get in, you are assigned to the campus geographically nearest to your residence. I'm not sure exactly how they work that because they do have a certain number of spots at each campus. In any case you have to attend an info session somewhere within the Region 6 (any of those 4 campuses) as well as an info session at Indy/Lawrence Region 8 if you want to apply to both regions.

What I was trying to say was that I don't believe you apply "to Muncie", "to Anderson" etc. for those campuses. You apply to "Region 6" and your application happens to go to the Muncie nursing office; but you are admitted based on all applicants for the region, and then they are divvied up to the separate campuses based on where you live. Like I said I'm not sure how they do that because what if more people get in who live nearest to Anderson and hardly any that live by Muncie? You'd really have to talk to the nursing chairs there to ask for more details.

Thanks csab - that makes sense.

Okay, anyone turned in their application stuff yet? I turned in mine on Tuesday. The wait is officially on! I wish they would give a receipt or something to prove you turned it all in. The lady who took mine just seemed so casual about it, it made me nervous. It didn't even seem like they had a specific place to put it or file it. I'm sure they do, but she didn't seem to be acting too quickly to put it there LOL.

I have chem this term, and A&P2 next term and then I can apply. I also need to take the TEAS, after chem I heard was the best.

I submitted mine about 2 weeks ago... she was very casual but I'm sure it's fine...

JM, did you apply to Indy? There seems to be different ladies in the office lately, not that one girl who was usually in there.

Chris, they mentioned at the last meeting that they lost their old assistant. The new one was an Ivy Tech employee previously, but is new to the nursing program.

Ahhh, I was wondering what happened to her. Well I just hope the new lady knew where to put the application stuff!
