proof of medical insurance is required in order to be able to attend the nursing program at tarrant county college here in little ole' texas. this will prove to be a sizable expense. does anyone out there know if this amount can be counted as a tax deduction?????? thanks for any feedback you can share.
may the best of luck travel to all of you heading to school in the days ahead!

I would check with the IRS or a tax professional. Medical insurance premiums are typically not deductible for individuals. I have no idea if that would change if you argued it was a necessary school expense. (I'm also not aware that school expenses are routinely deductible unless they are related to maintaining or improving your skills in your current career/occupation -- but then, I haven't been in school in a number of years, so I haven't kept up with the rules on that.)
Best to check with a professional.

Medical expenses, including insurance, is deductible if you itemize deductions on your federal tax return.
