I never understood how patients feel it is ok to say such inappropriate things. I am your nurse, not your friend.
Last night, after handing a patient a vomit bag which looked like this (just green)...
the patient stated..."It's too small."
I guess that's true but do the "regular people" say it to strangers that way patients seem to think they can?
Yes, even "regular people" say things to strangers that are completely inappropriate. Especially male strangers. To females. That you don't know that makes me wonder whether you are indeed, as your avatar would suggest, female.
I have a home health patient who boggles my mind with the kind of stuff he says to me. I once asked him for his signature and he "jokingly" said I would need to pay him $10. I told him I did not have $10 on me and his response was, "That's okay, you can just pay me in sex." This was all before and after he grabbed my butt and attempted to grab my breast. Needless to say, I had to shut that **** down fast!

sometimes if someone is being disgusting , I just ignore it and carry on as if it was never even said. Usually it stops it, as the person is looking to get a rise out of you anyway.
