In your opinion, what is the hardest class in nursing school?

Published

Just a random question,

What would be the hardest class that you have taken/ or are currently taking in nursing school??

Mine would be Med-Surg. ;)

Specializes in -.

Pharm...I'm doing it this semester and I'm having trouble with some of the med calculations...mostly because the teacher will not help ! All she does is talk about how good her upcoming holiday will be. Thankfully I have a med maths CD I can learn from.

Specializes in NICU.

I would have to say that MED/SURG was a difficult class...I have no clue why exactly. I did really well in the acute course my final semester in nursing school which is supposed to be harder...

Specializes in Pediatrics.

Banora - you are doing calculations in your pharm class? For me it is two separate classes, drug calculations and pharmacology. Calc - easy, Pharm - let's just say it's 11:52pm and most likely won't be going to bed anytime soon thanks to Pharmacology for the 3rd night in a row.

good luck.

Specializes in ER, progressive care.

Patho, pharm and critical care (at first, then as you go along I think it gets better. They just throw a lot of information at you all at once)

Pharm-Lots of rote memorization but not too hard.

Med-Surg-I find most of it interesting so it's not too hard to remember.

Psych-Hated it! Ack! The therapeutic nurse-client relationship almost drove me bananas.

Depended on who's teaching it. Pharm class was horrible, but the book was great (Lenhe), so I had to work extra hard, but it was good.

Critical Care was easy, because the prof (Class and clinical) made it easy and click.

Med-Surg II was difficult, because of the professor...when you ace the HESI with a near perfect score, and bomb the professor's final, something is definately wrong.
