Immunization??

Published

Ok so I just got my letter of acceptance today and was told I have to have proof of all my immunizations by May. This includes all titer results and TB test. Is one month plenty of time to get this done? I do have all of my shot records

Yes-schedule an appointment with your provider and have Titers drawn ( determines if you still have enough immunity) and your TB test done; you can have your TB test read in two days.

Yep. Usually takes 10 days or less for results of titers

Thanks! I didn't know if they had to be spaced out or not.

Is the tb a two step? If so the second tb test needs to be done one week after the first is read. But still plenty of time.

Yes it is a two step

I would start on it ASAP. Life happens and you don't want to lose your spot because you didn't get that 2nd step done, or that titer result back. If you had the vaccines you may not need titers done so double check with your program.

Thanks! I have an appointment in the morning to get everything started. I'm just worried about a titers coming back negative and having to wait another 30 days after the booster to get another titer done

When I was going through this process with school, anyone who had to have the boosters (like for Hep) just had to prove they had started the process, especially with a three step like Hepatitis. Then we could just bring in proof of step 2 and 3.

I got my Titer and the first step of my TB done in the same day. Got the Titer results about a week later and my second step done about 3 weeks later (didn't know at first that I needed a 2-step)

This is a Great read with a lot of research and studies linked to it.
