  1. I went back to the school that I got suspended from (went to community college in the mean time) and finished up my pre-reqs + retook classes I did bad in to boost my GPA from there, thus boosting my cumulative GPA. I am now in a nursing program
  2. Hey everyone I am in my second year of nursing school and I have to retake pharmacology. I was wondering what supplemental resources you guys used?
  3. I'm 25 now, and I'll be 26 going on 27 when I graduate with my BSN. Is it old? No, but considering that some of my classmate aren't even 20 yet, I sure feel it. I once read on here something that stuck with me: Do you want to be __ years old and a nurse, or __ years old still wishing you were one?
  4. I've personally referred to myself as a "pre-nursing" student while I was taking my prereqs. I'm in my program now, but I still have a math class left. Once I start my first NR class in July, I will feel like an official nursing student. That's just me.
  5. I've researched schools that have "first attempts only" for science pre-reqs, so I'm assuming withdraws count as an attempt. I doubt they would budge due to you having letters of recommendations but it never hurts to try. It comes down to the program that you are applying to.
  6. I got my Titer and the first step of my TB done in the same day. Got the Titer results about a week later and my second step done about 3 weeks later (didn't know at first that I needed a 2-step)
  7. One of the main reasons I believe I couldn't be a pediatric nurse. I'm not sure I could contain myself in situations like these especially since I am a mother myself. Thank you for sharing.
  8. Thank you guys !
  9. Hello all! I'm proud to FINALLY say that after 5 years I am starting my BSN program in January..........if I get an A in Fundamentals of Chemistry this upcoming fall semester . If I don't get an A, I wouldn't start until May, which would suck because I would be done with my pre-reqs and would feel like I am wasting time. The only other class I am taking is Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (gpa booster), and I read reviews on the teacher so I'm not worried about that class. What tools/websites did you guys use to help study for Chemistry? I know I can get an A if I dedicate the time to it. Appreciate the help!
  10. Same as above. I love the idea of not knowing what's coming through the door, or what my day will consist of, which is why ER/ICU interests me. I also love being around and taking care of babies, which is why I'm also interested in NICU.
  11. I got Critical Care Nurse and that's what I plan on pursuing :)
  12. ER/ICU for me. I eventually want to get my Master's degree. I'm also open to Labor & Delivery
  13. I took A&P along with history and nutrition in the same semester
  14. I love fun threads like this ! "guilty pleasures" -caramel fraps from Starbucks extra caramel -oreos soaked in milk -mini churros from jack n the box -"jamocha" flavored ice-cream from baskin robbins -HOT WINGS with ranch -pepperoni pizza On a serious note , I don't exercise as much as I should, so I finally made a schedule that I plan on sticking with .Vacation in July! I'm also going to start making smoothies in the morning since I almost always skip breakfast. Bye bye to my faves
  15. My spring break doesn't start until next week, but I will be spending mine like you are: gym and hanging out with my son. Looking forward to it! It's much needed :)
