Hello everyone.
Thank you for taking your time to read my post.
I have been trying to find a good nursing school to go to for a while. And I did not think it would be that hard. But it has been a nightmare to find the one that actually fits my schedule! Please somebody help me!
-I work full time. So, I can only go to school at nights and weekends.
-I have graduated from college 2 years ago with Bachelor of Fine Art.
So, I definitely would like to transfer humanity classes credits if poss.
Although becoming a nurse has been my dream since I was little, I have NO IDEA what to do, where to begin when it comes down to applying for school...
This site is actually my last hope!! Please help me become a nursing school student. I appreciate any comment, advise and etc...
Thank you and looking forward to hearing from you!

Hi, Babylove.
You could begin by visiting the NYS Education Depertment website:
http://www.op.nysed.gov/nurseprogs.htm
There you can look for nursing schools in your area. Once you find some schools, visit the schools' websites. You'll be amazed how much information you'll find. That said, it is also important to follow up with phone calls to the schools. Many schools have wait-lists for nursing programs - something you probably wouldn't read on the websites. When I was calling schools, I found everyone I spoke with was pleasant and very happy to answer my many, many questions. It's an overwhelming process, but you can do it!
Best of luck to you!

Hi babylove:
Also, if you already have a bachelor's some schools might be able to put into an accelerated program. However, these are often full time intensives. (for example, Columbia U and possiby NYU) It's a very interesting question concerning part-time/evening nursing courses. I wasn't aware that there were any, at least in nyc. But if you can bite the bullet to endure the intensive, I would do it. Because the outcome is that you can get into the work force so much the quicker, and begin to pay back all the $ that you've begged, borrowed, or stolen. :)
Good luck, keep up to date.
Hi Beth,
Thank you very much for your info! I checked out the website you mentioned. There were many schools I would like to contact. Also,
there are many info that I wanted to know. Thank you! :)
Hi Epiphany,
Yeah, there are a couple of schools that offer nights and weekend classes though it is very competitive so I hear. BMCC and LIU to mention a few...
I know it's gonna be tough to work and go to school... But I'll not be the only one! And I don't see why I can not do it! Thank you for your reply.
I feel so good that I posted on this site!
I'll be so determined to find the one that fit my schedule and I'm gonna
really do this! I AM GOING to be a nurse! Woof woof!
Best wishes to all,
Yoko
