Just nerves settling in, you do know your stuff as you have gone through nursing school and graduated. Just study some questions and stop studying Mon or Tue an try to relax (just do about 100 questions a day)

Good luck

I know exactly how you feel I take mine next Tuesday. One week from today. i am scared to death. I feel as if I have forgotten everything that know. I have done questions till i am crazy scores have been between 65 and 85%. I took the ATI predictor before we graduated and it said 97% passing rate on the first try. I took this test after our last exam and only 4 hours of sleep. I know I am crazy. Our last exam though only had 25 questions and I made a 97% on that also. Went all the way through nursing school with an A all three semesters and I am still scared to death. I have started to second guess myself on alot of things and I am just totally STRESSED out. I have not heard anyone say what types of questions they have been getting so that sort of scares me to. Well I am going to quit typing because I am probably just making things worse for both of our anxiety. Good luck on your exam and keep us posted on how you do.

Hi There!

There is absolutely no need to stress at this point. You should focus on telling yourself positive messages on how you will succeed and pass this exam...because you can! :wink2:

I studied for around two months and primarily focused on Exam Cram and my school's Elsevier practice tests. I took one HESI exam (which wasn't required for graduation) and got a 575 on it. Mind you, the highest score can be as high as 1100 or something. This shows you how much perseverance and positive thinking can go a long way. Now, I'm not a dunce, but I'm not the best at standardized tests and for a while I was a little down and out.

However, it's totally possible to pass this test if you are dedicated and from what you said, you're doing all you can to study for this test. Just know that if you can get through nursing school then you can get through this. It's just a test. It's important, but don't let it consume you with fear. I tend to be an anxious person, but for this situation, it only would've added more drama to my life so I quickly put that mindset to the side and it worked!

Good Luck to you and stay positive! Confidence is 90% of the recipe for NCLEX success! :yeah:

Taking my NCLEX PN in 3 weeks. My nerves are killing me. How in THE WORLD AM I GOING TO REMEMMBER. CAN SOMEONE HELP ME

I took the nclex pn exam on saturday so maybe I'll be able to help. First let me say that everyone is different. What may work for someone may not work for someone else as far as studying. I've read alot of posts and talked to alot of people whom were preparing for nclex. Doing 1000 Q's a week, using kaplan, reviewing content, and etc. However, I was completed different. I had a lot going after graduation that left me with hardly any time to study. When I did study I used my mosby's pn book and I went to two review sessions. I studied for a total of 2.5 weeks... thats it. Today I found out that I passed my boards ! So don't panic and just do your review questions and set up your own study plan. I forgot to mention that after I took the hesi I used the breakdown they gave me as a study tool. For example: I was week in comphrension Q's so I did many comphrension Q's. Most of all I could not have gotten through the nclex with my Lord God. He is AWESOME. Praying really got me through.

Good luck to all waiting to take boards !!!

BTW I stopped at 85 Q's

( do the PVT too, it worked )

Thank you so much for your input. Congradulation:yeah:I just heard from my ATI coach that I have a 95% chance of passing after I did the VATI Predicator exam. I am just weak in materal newborn and mental health. Should I continue doing questions and answer from the Saunder PN.

Thank you so much for your feedback. God Bless you

ohhhh..... ....i know it's hard to "be confident" but force yourself! you've been studying very hard and when the questions are presented, relax, take a deep breath, read the question, re-read it and use your critical thinking skills.

during your exam, i promise that it will all come back to you. if you have no idea, rule out what you know not to be possible and go with the best answer possible. and you will have questions that you seem to be just guessing at.

for me, i studied about 1 month. i scored 870/1100 on my hesi exit in june and did manage to pull a's this year. i did review the chapters in my saunders, especially those chapters that we "touched on" such as culture, legal and infection control. the only book (cd included) i have used all year was saunders nclex-rn examination, 4e.

my pn exam experience last month....by question 40, i was in serious in distress! i was feeling as if i knew absolutely nothing! the negativity was overcoming my ability to think. you may feel the same way, but i encourage you to take a second....breathe, give it to him and move on. i am an e x t r e m e l y slow test taker and suffer from test anxiety. i know i was about 2 hours into the test by the time i reached question 85 and the computer shut off.

i did go home and cry. i was positive i failed and sure of it. i had read many posts of people feeling the same way but still, i just knew "i" had failed. i know the exam is adaptive etc. i questioned "why lord?"....he had pushed me so many times to keep going, spoke through my patients to let me know that i was a nurse and that this was his plan.... despite me digging my heels in the ground, questioning, and doubting myself. still, i was "rethinking" my life, i was already ashamed that i had let everyone down, my husband, my instructors and friends who had been supporting me. i was thinking how will i be able to face them? you know what????....what a total waste of energy and total shame for not believing in his plan because i passed. i have been very humbled. if i am not confident in myself, how on earth can my patients be confident me? it's been a wake up call for me!!

so....following the exam, if you walk out feeling totally confused, doubting yourself, depressed or in tears...please...please...p l e a s e, just believe in yourself and know that you did do your very best. you did use critical thinking skills whether you realized it or not. do not let an exam destroy your dreams and ambitions. it is only a test!!! you have made through school, you will pass this exam too! my sincere hope is that you will relax, trust and believe in yourself. the lord believes in you and many who contribute to this forum do too!

p.s. pearson vue "trick".....if you live in a state were the board of nursing has an "online license verification" link available, check there before paying for "quick results". the bon will post about 20 hours after your exam. you will be very excited to see your name listed as an lpn!! i'm sure of it.

Ok, so tomorrow is the day! I have read all your postings and thank you for the kind and encouraging words all of you have put.

I am still nervous, but confident with all the studying I have been doing. I have been doing this for the past 2 years and it's time for me to shine tomorrow in the NCLEX. I am not hoping for my test to stop at 85 because I don't want to freak out when it reaches 86! I am just going to take my time, RELAX, take it easy and answer each question with all my knowledge. Whether it stops at 85 or 205 as long as I pass that's all that matters right?!?

Someone once told me that they don't think of what "grade" they are going to get, but that they are going to show the "test" how much they know. And that's exactly what I am going to do tomorrow.

I really hope I have a successful story for you guys on Friday (when I receive my results), but for now I will just TRY to keep confident!

Again, thank you for all your support and keep me in your prayers for tomorrow's test. :O/

P.S. Any last guidance you guys want to share before I get my "good night sleep", "good breakfast in the morning" and "drive safely to the NCLEX?"

-Krystine, future "LPN" :o)

RELAX!!! get there early so you have time to use the bathroom- as I have said before, just remember this stuff on the test is not above you. You will not know everything, but you arent suppose to- its made to be that way! This is to determine if you are where you should be at to become a nurse, an ENTRY LEVEL nurse-> thats what this stuff is made for! So remember that when your taking it. Do your best, TRY to stay calmclear your mind and just remember, you have made it this far, you can do it! Good luck!

Just got back from the Testing Center... I cried immediately after I left the place. I feel like if I failed and don't want to speak to anyone... My test stopped at 149 questions... I don't know whether to be happy or not because of that HIGH question number!!!! Has anyone passed the NCLEX with that amount of questions? Should I worry? Any tricks to know beforehand if I passed or not? I tried doing the whole "registering again to Pearson Vue" and it doesn't let me register.... Ok, let me know if you guys know anything?!

Honest you can pass with any number as long as it is between 75 and 265 (if RN) and 85 to 205 (if PN)

Good luck
