I have always been shy, but after I became a CNA I lost a lot of my shyness, or at least at work! Also shyness is not always a bad thing, because I am typically quiet I am a good listener, so a lot of patients confide in me knowing that I would listen to them.
You just need to be determined not to let it stand in your way, just jump into uncomfortable situations with both feet! Good luck!
Im shy and a bit awkward and im worried I won't make a good nursedo any of you have any tips or experiences with being shy?
I used to be shy too but I overcame that by taking speech. I'm sure you might have to take it as a pre req. At first it's overwhelming and intimidating but once you get over the initial shyness you will be just fine. After I took my speech class I had more confidence to speak up in class or talk to people.
