  1. I don't think so. It asked on the application if I had relatives that worked there so if it were an issue they wouldn't have called me in at all.
  2. I just got rejected after my first CNA interview. I thought the interview went really well I even had a family member working there who was able to vouch for me. The lady who interviewed me said it was looking good for me. Yet today I get a call saying they couldn't choose me at this time. I don't understand. I'm just really bummed about it because it's a nice facility and it's close to home. Now I have to travel at least 45 minutes to find work.
  3. I'm guessing you've already started your CNA class. I am a very nervous and anxious person so imagine my feelings before starting my CNA class. You just have to remember that everyone is probably nervous because everyone there is trying something they probably have never tried before. You'll get used to things quickly and I promise that you'll end up really enjoying the class if you try. I was scared out of my mind for Clinicals and I did mess up a few times but I really liked the experience. It's a great feeling knowing that you're doing something that matters to someone. Good luck and have fun!
  4. Where I'm from I just had to wait to be listed on the registry online to start applying because it tells you your certificate number on there
  5. Thank you! I hope the search isn't too hard!
  6. I'm from California and I had to retake the skills 3 times :/ the first time I messed up range of motion to the arm because I forgot he move. The second time I messed up blood pressure. This last time I got hand washing, blood pressure (she said I got it perfectly ), dressing a client with a weak right arm, applying a stocking, and range of motion to the shoulder. I took it in Santa Clara and the facility was meh, a little ghetto looking. The tester wasn't very nice either. I was really nervous especially since it was my last chance to pass the test! You can do it though! Just study the steps exactly as they're written for your state. I know in California bed changing isn't one of the skills that's tested thank god haha
  7. It was my last chance to pass the skills exam and I did it! I'm so happy I thought this day would never come! Now the fun part: finding a job lol :)
  8. Thanks everyone that took the time to respond :). I will try my absolute hardest for this test because if there's one thing I do know it's that I really want to do this. Now the problem is getting the courage to actually send in the application for the test.
  9. I'm embarrassed to even say it, but I have failed the skills exam twice. I only have one chance left to pass or else I will have to take the entire class over again D: I was ready for the exam. I study hard and I knew the skills. I got in the room and was so nervous. I went to take blood pressure and I heard the patients blood pressure and I went to write it down... And forgot the second number I heard!! I couldn't believe it! I panicked and guessed and since I panicked I didn't even think to ask to redo the blood pressure! I feel sick just thinking about taking the test for the third and final time. I feel like I am the only person ever to use all 3 chances. Everyone I know passed the first or second time :/ any advice on how not to get so nervous?
  10. I had my state test today and I failed the skills portion. I don't know what I got wrong because the place I took the test at was 2 1/2 hours away and they said that I would have to come in to find out because they don't mail it out. I feel stupid because everyone said it was easy and I failed. I need some encouragement
  11. For the cna state test do you wear scrubs? Or do you just go in normal clothes?
  12. 8 weeks 4 days a week from 7-4
  13. Where I live there's really only one ltc facility near me and one hospital. The rest are about 45 minutes away
