Ahhh! I take the NET for the second time today!! I'm just soo nervous and i really don't know what to expect! Csantos told me just to relax, but its hard to!! I'm really trying to though, b/c i know i will do better on it if i am relaxed. when i look at all these people who got great scores on it, it just makes me even more nervous!! Well, wish me luck!
Congrats to both of you. Your both an inspiration. I wish some one couldtell me how the NET compares to the TABE test. I did really well on the
TABE. Maybe I will be more confident with the NET if the test are similar.
The TABE has math and reading comprehension.
Thanks
Nina
Im not really sure. I never took the TABE test. I looked at it on testprepreview.com and it doesnt look much like it. The NET asks more about things like main idea, predicting conclusions and inferences. Thats basically all the reading portion of it is. Now the math, its all basic. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, decimals, fractions, and a little bit of algebra (about 4 or 5 questions). Have you taken the NET before? If you go to testprepreview.com and click on nursing test practice, then you will see what its like and how it compares to the TABE. I hope I helped, even a little!
Well, I didnt really have any test anxiety the first time i took it. Then after i failed and prepared to take it a second time, i was getting pretty nervous. But i dont really think i had any mental blocking or anything when i took it a second time. i was extremly nervous because i wanted to pass, but i tried to relax and i could still concentrate. I think i just focused too much of my attention on the things i did bad on the first time, and less attention on what i did good on (and the scores ended up swapping places!). I just need to focus on EVERY question now (which was initially the plan!) But i am definatly getting some test anxiety being that it is my third time, and i am EXTREMELY nervous now............but everyones support is helping me get through this and is so much appreciated!!!! Thank you everyone
I took the NLN entrance exam 4 times before getting a score I was even remotely happy with (the 3rd was ok, but I wanted higher). One thing I WILL say is when you are calm, your mind tends to be clearer and your able to think on the spot. I did MUCH better when I went into the tests knowing I had studied as much as I could and knowing there was nothing more I could do. Just study as much as you can (or as much as you need) and go in there knowing you've done all you can. I did that and I'm now going into my 2nd semester.
Best of luck to everyone still trying to get into their programs...I know it's hard, but the rewards are worth the stress!! Keep it up!

yes, i think i had just enough time for all of them, maybe a few seconds to spare. i didnt spend too much time on one question, and i remember starting my reading part at exactly 5:30, that way i would know i should be on question 2 at 5:32, ya know what i mean? that helped alot.......
