Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

As the title says Im pretty sure that I failed my NCLEX-PN for the 2nd TIME.... I shut off at 85 Questions again and it took me 1 hr and 45 minutes... I dont feel like I knew any of it this time... I had NO feel in the blank, NO check all that apply and NO math... I really wanted math questions to pad my grade a lil... But I dunno this just really sucks now I feel like crap. I ate 3 chili cheese burrito's and now im waiting on my check and I think I will then go to bed....

Oh well I guess I will find out the bad news on Friday

Sounds like me. I took the pn exam last Tuesday had the same thing as you no math no fill in blank lots of priority. Checked quick results Thursday and passed. Every one here gave good support. You probably passed.

Also does any one know of good nclex review book for RN. I want to study as I go through this semester. I passed my first class chronic disease now going into physic. People have told me that a good nclex rn book will help me get through these classes. I used Saunders 2nd for the pn. What about Saunders 3rd edition for the rn?

Sorry to hear you didn't pass. Are you working in a hospital now??? Seems like working might help you. Have you got an enclex book??? I used the Saunders review. Read it once for content and second like I was taking the real test. When I took my boards, about 10 yrs ago, I was the only person taking the boards, my entire test was thinker questions with only one question about actual nursing. I had such a headache when I left the Sylvan Learning Center and was sure I had failed. Nope, I passed. I had a lot riding on passing as I was an LPN doing Utilization Management at a large hospital and was told it would be in my best interest to get my RN degree. I took it to mean I wouldn't have a job. Never mind I was the nurse who trained all the RN's in my department. :) Good luck. 3 tries are always the charm.

Dave,

I admire your attitude and I'm glad to know you plan to take the test again. Perhaps it would be helpful to think about how you are preparing for the test before you go further. From your posts, it sounds like you've already done quite a bit of studying so its not that you don't know the material. Perhaps you just need a bit of practice on how to select what NCLEX considers to be the "best answer" to each question. Maybe it would help to do an NCLEX-style review with practice questions like Saunders or Kaplan. Study the strategies, and practice, practice, practice until you are answering most of the questions correctly. If you do this consistently for at least a couple weeks before you take the test you should do just fine the next time.

Dave, sorry to hear you didn't pass. Best wishes. Check with Suzzane, she's got a study system with 100% pass rate of those whom she's helped. She's the moderator of this forum, but I think she's moving this week. It's worth a try.

hehehe...that's o.k. I can take a good natured ribbing whem my grammer is bad. :rotfl:

I'm really sorry to hear that Dave. You still have an admirable attitude. I know that one day you WILL pass. I hope that you will persevere and become a nurse one day.

Wish I could say more, but hang in there, OK?

Hello, Dave!

My heart goes out to you! I want to support you and give you some encouragement. It is hard to fail! But, every human being can get anything he or she wants. It all depends on how bad he/she wants it. Please, don't give up. You can do this!!! And remember: IT WILL BE OVER SOON.

Just take a few days off for yourself and then get on it.

I don't know how exactly you prepared the last time ( sorry if i missed it), but i really suggest that you try Saunders. It is fantastic. I'm sure you know Suzanne , she is one fantastic lady and she has this wonderful program that she suggests for everyone. She says her passage rate is 100%.

Try it. Give yourself a 1,5 month or so to prepare and go for it.

Also, this forum was so helpful for me personally, people here are very nice and so supportive. When i was climbing the walls during my studying process, Suzanne and everyone else supported me so much emotionally. So, ....talk to us:chuckle anytime you feel like.. it'll help a lot.

I wish you all the best.

:) Also, i forgot to add that i'm an international student and i never spoke english in my life until i came to US ( 4 years ago).

I did Saunders,.... just what Suzanne says to do:) , and passed NCLEX-RN with 75 questions.

And i wasn't a super student. Bearly B, sometimes C.

( Suzanne, thanks again )

I know exactly how you feel. Failed the PN exam on Halloween this year. Took it a second time today with less questions but more time. Hopefully I passed. I had to move on. I had already started a new job as a GPN and a couple of girls from my class work at the same place. And those girls passed. So I had to go back to being a student nurse (nurse aide) for the next 45 days. But it helped me know that good things don't come free. Good Luck next time and God Bless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:) :)
