NursieRN: Welcome. Are you new to nursing, or new to allnurses.com?
I note from your profile you're a peds. special needs RN. You might be interested to note that many states are needing RNs to take community patients under EPSDT guidelines. You can be an independent provider (INP) for Medi-Cal (in CA) or Medicaid in many states.
I've been working as an independent contractor in this area since the program started and love every minute I work, even after 30 years. Please talk to me. What are you doing?
Raphael and JJ, thanks for your replies! I have been in this
wonderful world of nursing for about six years. First a CNA, then
an LPN, and now I'm finally an RN. In addition to some private
duty cases, I have worked with geriatrics, underpriveledged
teens, and finally my beloved pediatrics. I work at a residential
facility and I'm not kidding when I say "I love my job!"

Hi everybody! I posted my introduction on "off topic" and I'm
not sure that was the best place for it. So, at the risk of sounding redundant.....I just wanted everyone to know there's
another newbie in the house!!!!
