I have 15 days until my CPNE!! I feel ready!! I have my labs down to 6-8 minutes a piece. I have my critical elements memorized and my careplans are coming along lovely! The last two I summited to Sheri, have come back with no changes! I can right a careplan in under 5 minutes and my grids! I do well under pressue, so I hope that works out to my advatage. I plan on "ingnoring" the CE so I can focus on what I need to do and the patient. My plane ticket is bought and my hotel is booked! Im ready to get this over, so I can come back a GN! How's is everyone else feeling?

I did mine in 1999 passed it first time went on to take state boards and pass them first time. I really think this program prepares you well for state boards. Write if you want to know more. It was toughhhhhh and you have to be 100% on every skill. I prepared for 3 months set up labs in my house and practiced everyday. You can do it!!!!!! You have the right attitude and that matters!

Are you crazy!?! LOL I am feeling nervous still, but I will get there- 7 weeks left! (Ahh!)

Are you writing your care plans in under 5 mins WITH the mosbys or no? Curious just for how Ill do it. (Hope I don't get a post about how crappy I am at care planning TOO!!! lol)

Good luck- you'll do awesome!! Im doing Sheri's as well!

Yes, Im writing them with the Mosbys. When Sheri emails us the careplan homework and look at it and find out what my AOC are and then I write my careplans from there. I look at what I have to do, for example, if I have to do resp. managment I would do: inffective airway clearence; my nursing interventions would be 1) assess lungs; and 2) cough and deep breath. Hope that helps!

Good job with your preparing guys! I am still reading through the guide, and having many....:eek::eek: moments! I have my spare room cleared ready to set up my mock PCS. Back to reading away!

One quick question, the study guide recommends not to take a handbag or pocketbook with to the testing center...Excuse me?! How does that work?

great job brenan, so happy for you...

just an fyi "cpne club" you might want to check your local library for a mosby and a nursing drug book... i just called my library they are putting one aside for me, even though i test in sept. some of them will let you renew just something to think about... save some money for the plane ticket and hotel :)

I do the same. When I get her emails, I pretty much already have the dx and etiology and defining characteristics. My part is the interventions- I keep giving myself more work to do, but Im there!

I have read that there will be a small area to leave things, but not to bring items of value. I plan on bringing car keys and cash (in my pocket). Books to be in hand. I took notes in outline form as I went through the study guide. That always works well for me. Then I read and reread, highlight, highlight in second color, etc until I am good and have it down. Hope that helps!
