I graduated EC LVN - RN, then did my BSN through Texas Tech, I am Currently enrolled at UTMB for my FNP. Living proof that excelsior was the best choice I made in regards to my nursing carrier. Plus I currently work in ICU.

@ Fesgovia, our financial aid and student loans were disbursed before classes began, they offer payment plans too. Most of the books are required especially for legal and ethics, evidence, Leadership, and issues & trends I did not use one in nursing theory, the assignments are mainly short papers so far. I have not used an APA software but I know some people who are using it and it works well for them. Good luck

Hi everyone congratulations on your acceptance, i began the program in August an so far its good and I have nothing bad to say about it. We have a total of 10 classes which are divided into 2 classes every 5 weeks which is doable and you have ample time to meet your deadline. I work full time and have a two year old. I have never had the need to call in at work because of school. The assignment are straight forward. The papers are APA format most of them are at least/at most 300 - 500 words long depending on your instructor. So welcome. I expect to be done by march 2013. So for those that will begin in January may be you will be done by end of July.

What country are you? And how did you manage to take nclex with no visa?

If you returned to the same job then you did not quit.so no your resume, you just put form march 2009 to date without leaving space for maternity leave.

I got my RN Dec 29th 2011, prior to that I was an LVN. Since January, I have applied for well over 100 positions. on my resume, I indicated my duties as an LVN on a medsurg telemetry floor. out of this many applications, I have so far had 4 interviews and 3 job offers. I called the recruiter of these specific hospitals to follow up on my application they then gave me a phone interview and scheduled me for a face to face with the nurse managers. I guess it would be safe to say that I was quite aggressive and did not let any new position pass me by. I checked on the internet every morning and night to see if any hospital had new positions that fitted my qualifications. Some of the Job openings have the recruiter's phone numbers anytime i called a recruiter, I let them know where i got their number and ask if the position was still open. if they said they would call me back at a certain time, i called them back and reminded them who I was. I never gave up and did not feel any guilt on calling all the time to make a follow up on my application. Good luck

@ jesiford, I graduated ADN dec; however, I had worked with triumph hospital Sugarland now kindred since 2008 so they did not consider me a new Grad. Health south called me a day after I applied; I had a phone interview then I had been scheduled for a second interview that's when I got my job back with kindred. That being said kindred town and country have a student program open and they have other med surg positions open you can apply online may be you will be lucky. There's also a small LTAC called Atrium medical center on west airport between kirkwood and dairy ashford; just walk in and fill in an application. Since kindred aqcuired triumph a lot of staff quit at their Clearlake location too. Also the select hospital on I 10 might hire you if you walk in and fill their application just try your luck.

Am talking about summer 2012 (June), they had it as June 2011 Nursing internship for a few days, and they also had one for new grad rn. that was on for a while.

I have an Indeed.com app that updates on my phone whenever there are RN openings within the Houston area (that's how I get all the Info.) However, Memorial hermann have closed the Internship opening, the rest of the hospitals are still open, they have been for the last 20 days. Methodist have a Student nurse position open
