But then he just stands there and looks at me with those sad, empty googley eyesockets.......................I don't have the heart to turn him into dust, it's not his fault and besides he is borrowed :chuckle
I am going crazy to learn everything that our professor expects us to know for the upcoming labtest on Thurs, what articulates with what and how is driving me crazy.....we have to know every little nook and cranny. Plus we have to know everything about bone formation, joints etc. I am just so overwhelmed. I AM GOING OSTEO!
OK ya'll!! My day is now made!!:chuckle :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle I am sitting here for 3 days now, feeling my butt grow as big as my chair, studying my "box of bones" when I read this forum!!!! I have a major bone test on Monday and stressed isn't a strong enough word for how I am feeling!! But when I envisioned you choking old man bones with his googly eyes - need I say more - I almost fell out of my chair laughing:chuckle :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle :chuckle !!!!!And Siri - where on earth did you find that "sneaky" skeleton! That was almost as funny as the "choking"!
But I have to say that I have found a pretty cool website - especially since I don't have a real "live" skeleton to help me out!! It is basically your bone box online. Maybe this will help. I have also taken it bone or section at a time, otherwise it is overwhelming!

StPaulGirl - Let us know how your test goes on Thursday! I know you will "A"ce it!!
Thank you so VERY much for this terrific link. The skull looks so funny with it's upper two front teeth, and lower front tooth missing. :rotfl: Good luck on your test at least I still have until next Thurs.
DON'T GO OSTEO ON US!!!!!!!!!!!! gasp! You can do it, stpauligirl....without hurting the lil' man. lol
Do you know the bone names yet? If so, or if not, take one bone at a time, name it, say if it's left or right. Name and point at each "nook and cranny". lol Do this several times, then add another bone. Keep repeating this sequence until you can name all of them over and over again.
Take a break, get your mind off of it, then go back and do it all again.
Good luck, I know you can get this!
I know all the names, the tarsals and carpals are still a little shaky. I made flashcards to learn which bone articulates with which other, where and how. The skull and all the foramen and other processes are still kicking my butt but I know all the sutures and main bones. I know the vertebrae and how to distinguish the cervical from the thoracic and so on. It's all the little stuff that is giving me trouble. Lil, man was by my side all day grinning at me..... one of our cat discovered him and kept tickling his feet :)
On Monday I'll go back to the lab and work on the box of bones some more. I'll be alright .
Okay breathe ~ in and out CALM.....I do know how you are feeling though, there were a few times I just wanted to slap the jaw right off of him!
You will get it - just keep working at it - you will see, then sometime you will have it and think HEY I KNOW THAT!
A little jaw slapping is sometimes the best medicine......he is llucky that he is 'Little' I think of him as a kid, that saved him a couple of times today.:)
oh, please don't commit skeletacide, stpauligirl. skeletons everywhere gave of themselves in order to make your life miserable.seriously, you will finally get it. repetition.
oh i laughed at your response, this is way too funny. lil' man will have to "walk on eggs" and sneak around me really quitely just like yours......or i'll snap the axis right off and my three cats can finish the rest.:)
i am doing a little better this evening.
As for the tarsals an carpals, just repeat the names over and over in your head...go to sleep thinking them, and wake up thinking them. lol:Melody:
See, you have a new cat toy in the house!! :roll
Sure you will be alright!

I will do exactly that!!!!! Never heard of men growing on trees.....maybe on a money tree?
lol...his parts just need to be ummm, well, ummmm, how do i say this without getting a warning?.......screwed (back together! y'all geeze, what kind of minds do y'all have?!?!?!) :rotfl:so, how do i guarantee that my bag of bones will turn into a man? is there a special tree that i need to use? do you think my dh will share the home with this new treeman? :rotfl: :rotfl:
well, fun, empedocles had a theory that the tree-body was actually male/female and during adaptation, or aggregation/segregation, these parts either died out, or separated.
so, i suppose if you put some bones outside tonight against any old tree, for he never stated which type was necessary for this unique and crude evolution/adaptation, you might have either gender in the morning. but, if a certain tree is necessary, you might get.........
carples are really easy once your learn the little thingscared lovers try positions that they can't handle
DONT HURT MR. SKELETON! Me and him acctually got along.... the brain on the other hand...
The brain will be in A&P 2 , and i suspect it will be REAL ????? I've seen a student disect a fetal pig in our study lab, she had it in a rectangular baking pan .....looks intimidating.
