ILA OPI Information

Hi,

I'm planning to take the ILA OPI next friday. Anyone who knows anything about ILA OPI? What questions are being asked? How long will it take to finish the exam? and How would i prepare for this exam??? I need to take this exam to get a license here in Maryland.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

I'm glad i found this site discussing about ILA OPI, which is my concern all about today. I'm a new immigrant here in Maryland, a nurse by profession and soon to take NCLEX to be RN here. I just took the exam. I was quite worried about it since there are not many information online. After the exam, I found out the worry was unnecessary. The process was quite similar to this video:

. I didn't feel like I was taking the exam; more like chatting with someone and exchanging our point of view. The questions are not the same as in the video but they all start with the warm-up, level-check (with "hit the ceiling" to check the maximum ability), some vocabulary size exploration and then wrap-up. And I agree to the previous comments that you cannot prepare it; they can ask anything! Just talk more; watch more TV shows/movies; be relaxed! Good luck, everyone!

Hi to all. I was reading back the threads here regarding the OPI-ILA and I would like to ask questions regarding of the OPI. How is the flow of the interview? Im about to take it 2weeks from now. Thank you.

Hi @neverlands, RN. I am planning to take my OPI in Maryland. I was wondering if you have an idea if they provide the testing place or they set choices. I am from Pennsylvania and I'm heading to MD just for this test. Thank you so much for your help!

It seems like they always have the exam at the same site (Near University of Maryland, Baltimore County) but that might be changed, I guess. After they receive your fee and application, they will send the confirmation and the exam site will be revealed. So you will have some time to plan your travel :) Hope that help!

Thank you everyone for your help! I just took mine last Oct 14 and got the result on Oct 17 through an expedited score report. I passed! The interviewer was very nice and he surely made me comfortable while talking to him. For those people who didn't take it yet, don't be worried! If you are confident on whatever you are saying, you're safe to pass! God bless! :)
