Um... where are all those valiant defenders of ObamaCare that were here a year ago? Totally flaming anyone who dared to have any doubts about how Democrat promises square with reality.

Debacle.

Train wreck.

Disaster.

Total fail.

Incomprehensible.

Illogical.

Impossible.

Unrealistic.

Just some of the adjectives applied to the roll out by radical Tea Party news outlets like the Washington Post and the New York Times, CBS and NBC.

Thank you BlueDevil for your Liberal/ Socialist view. Unlike you, many Americans do NOT want YOUR Liberal/ Socialist version of America. Plenty of places that meet YOUR needs outside of America, so please, feel free to go. So Thanks, but NO thanks.

So you prefer Obamacare over single payer?

Oh, that's right, you have to PASS the bill, to find out what's IN the bill. Typical Liberal.

I think LearningByMistakes made that comment in defense of free-market healthcare, not single-payer Obamacare (tho that would be better than the present ACA...???). If I am wrong, then I stand alone. No biggie.

Free-market healthcare is the way to go, IMO. It was a free market system that made Medicine in the U.S. superior to most. Heck, free-market Capitalism is what made our country the greatest in the world. Now, pls don't confuse true free-market Capitalism with Corporatism or Crony capitalism, which is what we have today. (And if you saw Michael Moore's Capitalism, a love story movie and liked it, don't even bother commenting).

Yes, our system is badly flawed but Obamacare sure ain't the way to fix it. We're screwed!

I Currently work for a hospice in Arizona. For the past year our company health insurance has been thru United Health care. I pay 60 dollars every two weeks for just myself. Co pays for DR visits 35 pcp and 45 for a specialist. Max out of pocket per year 1500. Great pharmacy coverage too. Starting January 1st my company is switching to Aetna. 1500 deductible. Per our HR person. Deductable has to be met before insurance will pay anything including pharmacy! Oh and My premium is going up to 160 dollars a paycheck. I am so disappointed. Thank you President Obama for screwing average working class americans. Now the poor and the illegals will have better coverage then I do!
In 2009 my employer went from Blue Cross to Aetna. The other choice is Kaiser. The employer pays 100% for Kaiser.

The Aetna plan was $500 a month more than Kaiser. To keep my choice of doctor and hospital I paid it until i turned 65 and went on Medicare.

I have no idea what this has to do with my question.

Free-market healthcare is the way to go, IMO. It was a free market system that made Medicine in the U.S. superior to most.

Every other developed country in the world pays between about 5 and 12% of GDP on healthcare, we spend about 18%. Using major measurements of healthcare quality, we have one of the worst healthcare systems in the developed world. If you're the right patient in the right place at the right time you can get the best healthcare in the world in the US, but overall we pay much more to get much less, and the only thing different about our system is our quasi-free-market approach.

Heck, free-market Capitalism is what made our country the greatest in the world.

Free-market Capitalism didn't make our country great, well regulated free-market capitalism made our country great, the times where we didn't regulate it sufficiently threatened that greatness, not the other way around.

True free-market capitalism is hard to find, other than the Congo, the jungles of Columbia, parts of Mexico, etc, every country in the world has enough sense of self-preservation to make the principles of a free-market system work for them, rather than against them, which is done through regulations, laws, boundaries.

The level of regulation depends on how vital the existence of the market is. The free-market gave us, and then took away the laser disc by allowing it to crash in a cost death spiral, which was fine, we'll survive without laser discs. But unless we're willing to say that we can also do without healthcare, we can't allow the inevitable free-market death spiral to take healthcare away as well.

That doesn't mean we can't utilize the benefits of free-market effects. Many single payer systems still utilize private, for profit companies in various aspects of healthcare. Insurers, for instance, can no longer increase their profits by cherry-picking customers and dropping the ones that end up having to actually use the service they've been paying them for. Instead, they're enticed with a profit for doing their job well; the more efficiently they serve their basic function, the more they make. The same goes for hospitals, the better care they provide and the fewer complications, the more they make. That's same basic premise that applies to every other 'necessary' market such as utilities.

Now, pls don't confuse true free-market Capitalism with Corporatism or Crony capitalism, which is what we have today. (And if you saw Michael Moore's Capitalism, a love story movie and liked it, don't even bother commenting).

The only thing worse than Obamacare is what we had before, but I'm still not sure what it is that conservatives would give us if it's up to them, other than Obamcare with a different name.

My employer-based health plan has gotten more expensive every year for 10 years. In 2006, when George W. Bush was in the White House, the premium increased 3 separate times.

This is the stuff that we are tired of and what I was referring to, along with a Liberal/Socialist "take over" of 1/6 of our economy.

You're still not answering my question, you're just pasting random things.

What would you do instead? For example, here is the Republican alternative, do you prefer this, and if so, what specific parts do you like?
