Should I be a nurse: I am going to scream! How in the HE double hockey sticks are we supposed to know what is right for you?? I am sorry if I sound rude not my intent, but it just makes me wonder, do you have to have all your decisions made by another person if so you ARE going to have a hard time being a burse. I am a EMT and if I had to ask someone to do XYZ before I do what I know needs to be done, I would have a poor patient outcome. Sorry but this is getting old
Yes! OH my GAWD! I thought I was the only person who was getting frustrated about that! What is the deal with all of these new nurses coming onto the site, saying, I've been working X weeks or months and I hate this that or the other about my facility, I am NOT going to put up with this and loose (!) my license, I worked too hard for it. Huff, puff, harrumph, gaznorkle.Thank goodness I'm not alone!
You are going to lose your license for posting this.
Here's one that keeps popping up:
"I'm a nursing student/brand new RN and blabbity blah LPNs/CNAs/ADNs/PT/OT/RT/old nurses, short nurses, tall nurses, young nurses, DO NOT get offended by this but...!" -- followed by something completely offensive to LPNs/CNAs/ADNs/PT/OT/RT, et al.
Thank goodness we have permission to not get offended.:grn:
Sure glad I am not the only one who couldn't bring myself to read that thread.
Even outside of nursing, you use math every day. Or at least every two weeks to calculate your paycheck!
Yep, but to appreciate their situation's not unique they'd need to understand that they're not as special as they think. And I see there's a new thread asking about which areas of nursing have the least (and most) amount of maths. I can't read the thread, as I suspect doing so will lead me to taking my own life. After I've posted "This is not a good way to select a specialty. If you can't do calcs you should be an RN."
ETA: hmm. They need "advices."
Oops! ANd ETA: "shouldn't be an RN."!

Oh, but don't you know that the REAL nurses don't worry about their paychecks....they don't do this for the money!!!
(and if you believe this, I have 100 acres of swamp land in the Everglades I would like to sell you)
Is writing in complete sentences with proper punctuation really that hard?

I'll never forget, a while back we were debating nurses that are "called" vs nurses who are in it for the money, and someone mentioned "the nurses creed". I guess I'm one of those bad nurses in it for the money. I don't think my landlord would appreciate me living free
Yea, that "Nurse Creed"...almost put me right over the edge:uhoh3:.......oh, please, chile...I did not pledge to Love, Honor Obey, and Nurse....or any thing of that sort...Jeez, I didn't even say obey in my wedding vows (at any of them...teehee)...
There seems to be some um, would you say, misguided (naive?) nurses, who think we actually take some sort of oath or creed and then sing a song or anthem...let's see..(clears throat, mi mi mi mi)..here goes....
"Oh beautiful, Oh, reverant job, for ever shall we nurse.......
for Florence sake,
money we won't take.....
For that would be a curse"...
Oh, nursey now, oh nursey now...I am a nursey now and heaven know's, I'll die in support hose, but I will be a nurse............"
Thank you, thank you very much....
There's one of these in almost every thread:
No, I would never do blah, blah, blah, though most of the respondants are judgmental @?!# that have lost all traces of humanism. Oh, by the way, I am the most knowledgable person on this subject, even though I didn't thoroughly read the entire thread, and the rest of you are completely wrong.
