I've always thought if I wasn't a nurse I'd like to be a firefighter, quite different but then at the same time still a public service.

When I was growing up I always wanted to work in a sweet factory but I grew out of that!

What other job would you want to do if you weren't a nurse? Just curious.:nurse:

I noticed, but figured no one would ask for only $307 when they could have $307 million.

If I couldn't become a nurse, I'd be:

1. A dog trainer for special assitance and therapy dogs

2. A police detective...a la Olivia Benson on Law and Order SVU

3. Truck driver (always wanted to learn more than 5 gears)

4. Carpenter who builds jungles for cats to play in

5. Choir director and freelance singer

6. Vegetarian chef for a zen monastery

Wait...I suppose I can do these things too, except for maybe number 2, Since Olivia is fictional!:yeah:

I"d like to be a best-selling author (not too late for that, I guess). If I could pay the bills by sitting around and playing guitar all day, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

I originally enlisted to go to the Defense Language Institute to learn Pharsi (Iranian dialect) and wanted to be a Naval Intelligence officer, then transfer to the CIA to be a case manager/operative in the Middle East.

I still work pt at a fire dept with a great chief and good bunch of guys. so I get to do that one day each week.

Last summer I was sea kayaking about 1/2 mile off shore and got completely surrounded by a pod of dolphins! They were squeaking and spraying me with water, it must have lasted 4-5 minutes. and my wife saw it from where she was, so I have a witness cause she might not have believed it otherwise!! I could be a marine biologist after that.

I also think it'd be great to be an underwater photographer, especially during Shark Week on Discovery channel.

I'd like to volunteer at one of our local microbreweries but I doubt they need my "help".

other than that....chef/restaurant owner, jet pilot, billiard champion, political strategist, NFL quarterback.
