ideas for treats for my floor

So I have to move away and start a new job, but I totally love my current unit and co workers. I want to give them a goodbye treat to say thanks/I'll miss you and kind of have a going away party on my last night at work. I'm trying to think of a good idea though about what food to do. So far my ideas are: yummy Costco cake? chinese take out? sushi? pizza? What is something YOU would like to eat as a treat on your floor? I know we all usually gobble up anything that tastes remotely good whenever someone brings in food, but I want it to be a little more exciting than just cookies or candy.

here is what I suggest. A big poster board. Be creative in your way but a spot on the board for each coworker. Then using symbols, words, whatever, let that person know what they have meant to you while you have known them. Then hang it in the break room :) From the heart :) Note: it is imposssible to be too touchy feely, let the love flow

They would appreciate food more than a poster in the breakroom. Seriously.

I dont think so. And seriously, from what I have seen, there is no call for more food in most nursing floor break rooms ;)

someone just recently left my floor. we had a tea party. everyone bought in desserts. i don't think you can ever go wrong with sushi or dessert. honestly, they will probably be very happy if you left a heartfelt card and maybe a photograph. : )

any food that is in the breakroom!! i think the thing that our unit enjoys the most is chocolate goodness!!!!

what i did when my internship was over, was i made 2 pans of brownies and 2 pans of skotcharoos (double frosting!). i brought 1 pan of brownies and 1 pan of skotcharoos for AM shift and again for night shift. There ended up being a little extra for the next day.

Simple, people liked it and it was easy for me. i used the disposable pans so i could just leave it.

Just no Dunkin' Donuts. A Box o' Joe is acceptable, though.

I am sorely disappointed....I really thought my poster idea would be a huge hit :(

The poster idea is a good one. I'd suggest making it in such a way that each co-worker can take her piece of it home with her.

You could do the Chinese take-out and bring in your own fortune cookies. There are places online that sell them. Make a special fortune for each friend.

I like the food AND the poster ideas! It's always fun to have good food, but it would actually be nice to show these people how much I like them and will miss them in a more personal way too.

Agreed Dunkin' Donuts is so overdone.

I do think the board idea is cute.

I am BIG baker, my specialty is cupcakes but I can bake many types of cookies, cakes, brownies, pies, tarts, bars etc. I also make chocolate mold candies or pops(EVERYTHING you need for making those you can find at the craft store. They have huge varieties of molds, huge varieties of colors for the melting chocolate/vanilla, the pop sticks, the little baggies the chocolate goes in or covers the pops, even the twist ties and curled ribbon for it. Its REALLY easy to do, doesn't take hours for the chocolate to refrigerate and the directions are on the back of the molds.

I think it would be a nice idea to to the melted candy/pop thing and then order in a meal. This way your co-workers will have something from you that you took the time out to make for them its a little more personalized. However if you work crazy hours and or a busy life outside of work then order in. Your co-workers will be so grateful.

You can do bagels and butter/cream cheese and get a couple of costco sized bottles of Orange Juice and Apple Juice. You can also cater in a 6 food party hero from a deli or even supermarket deli's make them(and order half the side with American cold cuts or half the side Italian cold cuts(if you work with some vegetarians you can get a portion of the hero meat free), Panera caters soup, sandwiches and salads), A lot of pizza places can cater in Italian food like penne alla vodka, baked ziti, chicken dishes etc., Order in Greek(Gyros are BIG hit with my co-workers and some mexican places cater.

I's sure anything you do will be special and appreciated by your co-workers. Especially because you WANT to do THIS and don't HAVE to this.
