Hello,
I don't think I have ever posted in general discussion area...so hello to everyone. Looking for ideas on how to handle my current situation:
I run business with my wife that is growing but not big enough that I can step away fully from nursing yet. I am looking for ideas to work 8 hour shifts at night maybe once a week. 12 hour shifts are just too long while running business also. Currently work in ICU and just looking for any areas I could get into that will work with me.
Thanks

Private duty is the way to go. I completed almost my entire MSN program online while working a peds vent case. Pay is not as good as the hospital of course, but the right client gives you oodles of free time to work the business between vent alarms.

When I worked inpatient rehab in a hospital, they had eight hour night shifts.
is this night time also like 7p to 3a?

Private duty nursing varies... I have shifts that are 1900-0700, 2000-0800, 2100-0900, etc. Just depends on the agency and the client's needs (or the client's family's desires). Other places have 8-hour shifts.
Call around to home health agencies in your area and ask if they have any PDN shifts of the type you're looking for.
