Hello everyone!
It has been ages since I have visited allnurses but now find that I have alot of time on my hands
I have just finished my 3 years of uni... set to graduate on the 14th December, but find myself with no grad nurse positions being offered to me
I really really want to work as an RN!!! So having missed out on a GNP position, what are the reputable agencies that I can apply to? Are there any other ways of getting a job as a nurse without experience?!
:crying2:
thanks

Apply for everything. Never know what you might get offered. Also take whatever is offered, you're after that "one years minimum experience".
I'm in a similar position, just six months ahead of where you're at. Working for the one local agency that takes new grads, lots of nights but every bit of experience counts. Also, I've got a part time job at the local charity hospital, it's a volunteer position but gaining pacu experience and good training. Don't know if there's something similar where you are or not. I'm also starting post grad next year, help boost both the knowledge and the cv. And still keeping a lookout for other work
Hope that helps give some idea of possibilities...

Have you tried RDNS? They offer a graduate program I believe.

Hi. Some agencies offer grad programs, NASA does but I personally would not recommend them - they were extremely disorganised. Ring all the agencies. Also some agencies let you work at private hospitals without having done a grad year. They will start u off on wards that aren't TOO stressful and train u up. Try ringing the private hospitals and see which agencies they use. Agencies will tell u that by law they have to take people with so many months of experience, but private agencies (the ones not run by the gov't) can do what they like. Also apply for next years intake. What state r u in? Email me privately & I will give u the name of my agency (but they're not in every state yet). They will find u work, trust me they are great :)
