I want to put an end to the Pearson Vue controversy.

48 hours ago I took my NCLEX for the first time and was cut off at 75 questions. I did the "pearson vue" trick that was listed on many boards and after 36 hours got the horrifying "bad popup." So did several of my classmates ranging from the 75 questions to the 265.

I live in Texas so I was able to get the 48 hour quick result which showed I passed. As did the others who got the "bad popup." There is hope.

I just want to say for anyone who was like me and was worried sick, just don't do it. Don't do the trick anymore, it doesn't have any credibility. Believe that you did all you could, and even if like me you felt like you knew none of the test, they want you to be stressed, they want to see how you will answer those questions in a stressed situation, because that's how you will practice.

You can do it, good luck.

Congratulations! well done you guys!

Did your friends get the "good" popup and pass?

Also did you go all the way through and submit a credit card for authorization and get charged the 200$ testing fee again... I know that they changed it awhile back that everyone must submit a valid credit card and they and only then it either charges you or will not let you register.

Yeah if you don't go through SUBMITTING your cc, then it won't work. People stop at the credit card page but you must submit it for PVT to work.

I had used my bank card with a different expiration date and got the card declined error instead of the you are unable to register error.

My classmates used their cards with the wrong expiration dates and we had a mix of declined with pass, one where it declined and failed, one who had the register error and passed.

Only a handful of people have taken their test so far, so the others will be trying this later just to see how the results are.

It seems like the popups are just random to me, but I wouldn't risk the $200 since it is not refundable.

Well, everyone has to have a dream---yours can be that you'd like there to be an end to this PVT nonsense. However, there will still be DAILY threads about this and I will continue to roll my eyes at every one :sarcastic:

The PVT is only an accurate indicator of if you passed. It is not an accurate indicator of if you failed. Not all people who get the "bad pop up" fail, but EVERYONE who gets the "good pop-up" passes.

We had one student of the 7 so far of us that had a good pop up and failed.

We had one who had a bad pop up and failed.

The other 5 of us had good popups and passed, and bad popups and passed.

I don't doubt you are telling the truth, or saying that your friend is lying, but I always hear and read of someone who "has a friend" or "heard about somebody" getting the good pop up and failing. I have never heard, read, or seen a person who post their own first hand experience of waiting 24 hours, getting the good pop up and still failing. I don't dispute the validity of your claim, that is just an observation I have made. The PVT worked for me and eased my anxiety. It clearly worked for you as well seeing you got the good pop up and passed. It has also worked for your other 5 friends and thousands of others. So, if ANY ONE out there is wanting to try it, they should!

I wish people would stop calling the PVT accurate. It is not accurate because payment system for Pearson Vue was NEVER INTENDED TO BE USED TO DETERMINE PASS/FAIL OF A TEST. There is no way of absolutely determining when a particular test will be processed.

1 You may complete the test. There is no issues with you taking the test. Your test is certified as completed.

2. You completed the test, but a procedural error occurred on your part or the testing facility. Test is reviewed, causing a delay.

3. You take the test late on Saturday and it isn't processed completely until Monday.

4. There is a holiday involved, causing a delay.

From the time of your initial registration until the test is processed by Pearson Vue testing department, the registration and payment system will not allow you to register for another test (Good pop-up). You have no way of knowing the time frame from the time you finish the test until it is processed. The minimum is 24 hours. My former classmates' licenses were posted on the state's BON website 24 hrs after finishing their tests. They took their tests between Monday and Thursday. I took mine on a Friday and it didn't post until Monday. You may do the PVT 24 hrs later and get the "good" pop-up, but you have no way of knowing if you passed or it hasn't been processed yet. Even if you passed, there could be a glitch in the processing system and it takes your money. There is also the gray area of how people are trying to cheat the payment system. Using cards without enough money in them, wrong expiration dates, quitting before entering the credit card, etc. and then either posting good or bad pop-up. You are trying to determine test results by entering wrong information to a PAYMENT system. The same thing happens when you go to store's website and put in the wrong information, it rejects your card.

The expected process is: Take your test, wait for your official pass/fail from the BON, if you fail THEN register again with Pearson. If you passed, there would be no reason to re-register and loose $200.

Pearson Vue Registration and payment processing was never intended to be a indicator of Pass/ Fail. Any assumption in the accuracy in using that system for that purpose is foolish.
