I know and feel your pain, that was what I felt when I failed the first time. But here's what I did, I did self review for both my tests. Please read my link. Hope it helps you in any way. :)

About the job, try to send out applications for LTC, you may get hired not as an RN but at least you will have a job. Some requires certification for CNA, others allow people like Nsg Grads. Good luck!
Thanks so much.... I am going to keep trying... I just feel so stupid!
Give yourself a break first then go start your review again,
I know it's hard thinking that you failed but believe me once you
pass it will be all worth it. :) Focus and build your review routine.

Definitely give yourself a break before you start studying again

I never worry about the small details, because I feel like it's impossible to memorize them all. Instead, I try to imagine actually being the patient and what my day/week/life would be like if I were in their place.....weird, but it works for me somehow. I did do a lot of Saunders review questions, but I really didn't try to learn anything new from them....I just tried to connect the things that I already knew to each other. I also gave myself plenty of time to think about what I'd seen/read instead of just going through more and more material. I sometimes did ten questions, then thought about them for hours before moving on. I actually only made it though about half of my review book, but what I did review, I understood well.
Of course there were detail oriented questions on NCLEX, and I did not know the answers to them....so some focus on detail might be good.

First of all, take a break from studying. You will drive yourself insane if you don't. I used 2 the Saunders books and the CD-ROM's that came with them. They worked really well for me. I have an aunt that is a professor of nursing and she recommends ATI to her students. But seriously, take a break first. Good luck to you!

You are definitely not stupid or you would've never made it though nursing school!! My husband took it yesterday and failed. He graduated with an A average and scored high on all practice tests he took (ATI, Saunder's, etc.). You just never know with these kinds of tests. Hope things go well for you next time!

My nursing instructor explained it a little differently...so actually you did better this time than when it shut off at 200 questions. That time the computer "knew" that you couldn't possibly pass the test...so it failed you. This time you made it all the way to the end of the test, right on the border of passing. The only reason that you got all of the questions was because the computer couldn't decide if you were over the cutoff or not. Essentially you did better on the second test. Hope that makes sense.

Someone already said it. Give yourself a break! You made it through Nursing school. That is an accomplishment in itself. You did do better the 2nd time. It kept giving you questions... so you almost made it. I know that doesn't make you feel better right now. Take a small break, and get back at it. Don't wait too long. You almost did it. Taking too much time you will start to forget information. I am waiting for my results, which I get back tomorrow. I did the ATI online virtual review. I have been very pleased with it. I'll let you know tomorrow if I passed. I answered 75 question and they were so hard I really have no idea how I did. Those question were nothing like any review book I used. Not sure what those questions were all about. I also used Feuer Review. They are CD's that you can listen to. There are 28 of them and they go through all the body systems and tons of disorders. I downloaded them onto my ipod and listen to them all the time. They do such a good job at makeing you understand what is really gone on in the body and why instead of memorizing. I really think that is the key. Understanding the reason/rationale not memorizing the answer. Don't quit and try again.. You know what they say Third time is a charm.
