I took the NCLEX-RN for the fourth time :(

Published

Hi Everyone,

I am sort of new to this all.. I took the NCLEX-RN today and haven't been able to eat or sleep and have had this headache all day :( I have severe test anxiety and took the exam for the fourth time today.. the computer shut off at 180 questions. Does anyone know if what they say about getting the last question on the exam right or wrong is true? I came home and immediately looked in my books and think I got the last answer correct but I am not 100% certain. I felt as if I knew about 40% of the exam for sure and had to make educated guesses on the rest :( The end of the exam began to get pretty hard and I got alot of select all that apply and diabetes medications and priority questions. I know that going with airway patients is always the first and immediate priority but what if they give you all patients with fracture's??! I am just so sick to my stomach. I feel like I can't go through this any longer :( Any advice or suggesstions?? Please help..

Hey zeldajane don't feel bad about failing the test for the 4th time your not alone. I also found out two weeks ago that I failed for the 4th time. Like you I just not sure what to do anymore. Does anyone have any suggestions? HELP!!!!!!!!:banghead:

I failed for the first time with only 75 questions. Does this mean I have less chance to pass?

If I understand correctly, you have to get 50% of the questions correct above the passing standard? I took the NCLEX-RN 6 times and failed 6 times. I now have to take a review class before I can sit for RN again. I passed the LPN Nclex on my second try. Suzanne's program helped me tremendously! Best of luck.

:confused:Bengiestev, what is Suzanne's program? How do you sit for LPN board? Can I take the LPN even though I've taken the RN NCLEX 4 times? Do you have to take a review course as a requirement before you can sit for the RN NCLEX?

Hey? Been there done that. I live in a very small town where everyone knows you and believe me, I know exacltly how you feel. I am going into it for the fifth time and you know what? I don't care what anyone thinks! I just have to do it. At times, I do not know what to think anymore, however, I know I am studying really hard this time. Best of luck, you will be fine.

Everything regarding Suzanne's plan can be found as a sticky. You need to complete the first tip and have 15 posts to be able to send her a pm

Everyone gets 50% correct and 50% incorrect. An easy way to think of it, is that the majority of the correct ones that you get need to be above the passing standard.

This may help everyone to understand it easier.

Hey ZeldaJane, I feel for you. I too have not been able to pass the nclex. I will retake mine for the 4th time this end of august. Hang in there, stay positive, and know that everyone is rooting for you.

Freeme,

You probably have to check with your state board, I would think their rules might be different? I have a RN-BSN from the Philippines, Florida let me take LPN exam. Every 3 times of failing RN, they require refresher course.

i dont think the last questions matters if you take 75 or 265, but anything inbetween then it might, im not sure but it only makes sense
