Hi Everyone,
I am sort of new to this all.. I took the NCLEX-RN today and haven't been able to eat or sleep and have had this headache all day I have severe test anxiety and took the exam for the fourth time today.. the computer shut off at 180 questions. Does anyone know if what they say about getting the last question on the exam right or wrong is true? I came home and immediately looked in my books and think I got the last answer correct but I am not 100% certain. I felt as if I knew about 40% of the exam for sure and had to make educated guesses on the rest
The end of the exam began to get pretty hard and I got alot of select all that apply and diabetes medications and priority questions. I know that going with airway patients is always the first and immediate priority but what if they give you all patients with fracture's??! I am just so sick to my stomach. I feel like I can't go through this any longer
Any advice or suggesstions?? Please help..
Did you check the sticky on Suzanne's Plan? I know she has helped many people pass who had failed several times already. Suzanne is strict about the requirements and you'll need at least 45 days after you complete the first tip.... but here, read about it yourself:

Best of luck! Please don't give up!
I just got my results and found out I failed for the fourth time nowNot sure If I can go through this again... I am not sure anymore what it is that I am doing wrong.. I have to go out with all my nursing girls tonight and be embarrassed once again...
Hey girl hang in there!!,no I'm not a RN,nor have i been accepted.i believe
people go through obstacles in life to understand others that encounter the same problems.GOD BLESS YOU!!:nuke:
Hi there,
I was not the good student back in the nursing school and i think im the dumbest one of all actually, yet i still pass the second time. And i remember the hard time i had to go thru, so, i know exactly how u feel. Girl. listen...im pretty sure you have all the knowledge you need. but u definitely need the strategy to answer them correctly. After i failed for the first time, i studied my butt off and i took the Kaplan class too as well. They have very good review class in term of teaching you how to answer them strategically and the question banks are very useful...let me tell you how i succeed in the 2nd time round, i studied everyday..mostly practising questions from the Kaplan question banks, and also i used the Saunder's too...topics that i was weak at, i will use Saunders to review and if you were to take the Kaplan's review class, they will give you their textbook too as well..and that book is actually very good too. So, i would strongly advise you to consider that. Just give yourself another chance...you are close, considering you had 180 questions! Good luck!
Zelda, it's okay... regroup and take a serious look at your safety in regards to the nclex. Delegation questions are always good to look over. Try to purchase a delegation/prioritzation book. Mosby makes one such book. It's full of "what would you do,who would you see first" questions. I sure do wish you luck,, don't give up you can make it!!!
NCLEX-Rn sucks--
..i really, really love your screen name !!!--as an avid , and well reknown 'NCLEX" and "CA BRN" hater myself--i have to tip my hat.
----DONT lose hope-just realize its not YOU its this dumb test. --consider yourself an RN already, you just have to answer X amount of questions.--
Dont let "them" win, i know its hard right now--I FINALLY passed last week on my 3rd time.-
trust me--all that anxiety, frustration, and sadness TRULEY does go away at a click of a mouse button when you enter your name and see it.
I wish you the best of luck
JON
ZeldaJane, if you feel that you were prepared for the exam and yet failed again, you may have anxiety issues that are making it difficult to take the exam. In addition to studying for the exam, maybe take Yoga or meditation classes. After failing the exam the first time, I took a review course that included relaxation and meditation techniques. I did utilize breathing techniques during the exam and I feel it did help keep me composed during the test.

There's a reason for every frustration. And when you choose to be brutally honest with yourself, there's also a positive and potentially life-changing response.
The best response to frustration is not to fight it or resent it or let it break you down, but to learn from it. Perhaps frustration is attempting to convince you of the need to speak out against injustice, or pointing out changes that you know you must make in your own behavior.
Frustration may very well be telling you that what you're doing at the moment is not at all in line with your most deeply held values. Frustration may be your way of telling yourself that you need to more fully prepare for life's various challenges.
It could be that frustration is helping you to realize that there must be a more effective, more efficient, more compassionate, or more sensible way to do some particular thing. Many great achievements and advances start out as frustrations.
Feel the frustration, and then listen very carefully. For that frustration is giving you some priceless advice.
