I think I'm in trouble, HELP!

I was charged with a crime, Criminal Mischief, 3rd degree, LAST YEAR! I did not think this had to be reported, as I pled guilty, went to Anger Management, etc. I got in a fight with a friend when I found her and my husband together. She did not get in any trouble. However, it is time to renew my license, and as I came to the question about a criminal offense, I looked it up and I have to report ANY history! Help! Am I going to lose my license? Will I be able to work? Will I be suspended because I didn't report this? If I knew all of this, I would have went to court and fought it, but I didn't have the money to do that and the police, who I now believe lied, said it would not go on my record if I admitted to the crime. Now, I'm finding out that it is on my record! I've never been in trouble! I'm a single parent with 3 small children. Will I be able to work while this is reviewed? Oh, so many questions!

Per TOS we can not offer any legal advice. My best suggestion is for you to contact your state's BON and ask how this might impact you if at all.

Good luck!

I would call the BON of your state. However, most the the time actions are not reviewed until your renewal is due. If you have fulfilled your sentence and probation etc, most likely your license will be renewed without a glance. You may to write a letter explaining the circumstances but that will most likely be it. Please find an attorney that is KNOWS BON standards. It will be worth your time and money.

If you admitted to the charge, of course you were found guilty and of COURSE it's on your record. The police don't decide what goes on your record or not, it's the courts that do.

I wish you the best of luck, definitely address this head on, do NOT think you can slip it by the BON!

The police don't know damn squat about what does or does not go against a nursing license. They are arrogant SOB' s who only care about their days' quota. DO NOT TRUST WHAT A COP SAYS REGARDING SOMEONE'S LICENSE. Fight it at all cost.

I'm sorry I'm angry. Cops are partially responsible for my brother's death.

My DH is a police officer. My brother is a police officer. I'll try not to be offended by your juvenile comments.
