I was so cmfortable with the questions they were asking me and i was so sure that it would stop at 85....but I guess not. the higher the number got the more anxious i was for the computer to shutoff. the questions got harder all focusing on endocrine. it stopped at 205.
i left the testing center crying, discouraged, and unintelligent. i called everyone i can think of to think what they thought 205 meant...that is of course the maximum questions you can get at the NCLEX-PN.
do you think there is still hope? qhat are the chances of me passing honestly.
Hi,
The director of our nursing program told me that test takers are sometimes given 200 plus questions in order to choose questions for subsequent NCLEXPN exams. These questions aren't even included with your overall score, but serve as a guide to compose future tests. She said not to fret about it.
Does that mean im a guinea pig! Well I received this thing in my mailbox a flier that says LIFESAVER REVIEW CLASSES if you want to pass the first time. I freaked out! Im starting to think they sent it to me because they know I failed!!! ok im spazzing out sorry guys for freaking out. k bye i love you all.

The director of your nursing program is wrong. Everyone's test includes "pilot" questions, regardless of the number of questions taken. If you finished at 85 questions, you had the same number of "pilot" questions as someone who finished at 205 questions. According the the PN Detailed Test Plan from the National Council, "There are 25 pretest items on every NCLEX-PN examination. It is impossible to distinguish operational items from pretest items, so candidates are asked to do their best on every item."
Its funny, my girlfriend and I(both graduated LVN school at the same time) decided to take the test at the same time. Well, we both got the full 205 questions and were sure that we didnt pass. We both got our results and passed. The amount of hair pulling and nail biting can't seem to describe the anxiety I was feeling. I was about to give myself some ativan to calm me down. After that event, I told all my fellow students to not worry if they got the full 205 questions. Worst that can happen is that youll have to take it again. This was all in December of 04. Now im about to start RN school. Good luck to you all.

Endocrine......yikes!!! It can go either way, either you passed or you didn't. You won't know till you get your results. Good Luck!
Some people do not pass the test the first time. Don't give up on your dream.Take the test again. The anxiety of the test may have messed you up a little. When you take it again, at least you know what to expect. You know you have it in you.
Yeah well I got my results. I didn't pass. I don't know what to say, I studied hard, and yet so comfortable it wouldve stopped at 85. Now...I don't know what to think. If I can't be confident what can I do?
Where do I start? How? When?
How long do I have to wait to take the next test?

Hello! I tested in Jan. this year with the same situation! Almost all of my fellow classmates had the 85 questions, I was not so confident of course had jitters, once it begun I felt ok and swore it would turn off, well 85 came and went...100 came and went and I took every question and PASSED! Really think it just is just meant to be no matter what! So try to take a deep breath!
