  1. Thanks, I submitted about almost 3 months ago...I call and get put through some order and always get an answering service. At the time that I started this process...I had to send paperwork to my school in Missouri etc however they sent that about 2 1/2 months ago. Just dont think it should take this long!! Thank you for your help! Michelle
  2. Hello! I tested in Jan. this year with the same situation! Almost all of my fellow classmates had the 85 questions, I was not so confident of course had jitters, once it begun I felt ok and swore it would turn off, well 85 came and went...100 came and went and I took every question and PASSED! Really think it just is just meant to be no matter what! So try to take a deep breath! Michelle
  3. Hello, I received my LPN from Missouri this past Jan. We have moved to Texas throughout this time, and I have not worked yet as a nurse here as I am waiting for all of my paperwork to come through....since here in TX you are a LVN! I am so PARANOID! I have waited fo rmonths and NO word, my question is if anyone knows how long it should really take and maybe what I can do to push it a little faster. I just want to be licensed here so I can work under this states Nurse Practice Act....Thanks so much! Michelle in TX
  4. I live about 30 miles south of Houston, TX where they are in DESPERATE need of RN's, LPNs, LVNs, EMTs etc so of course we all want to give what we can. Though I am a nurse, I am volunteering time to just FOLD the donations, hand them out, talk to the evacuees/refugees so forth! It is very heavy on my heart those still stranded in N.O. and especially in the hospitals! Prayers to them all!
  5. thanks, but what i am looking for is an actual class...they have them for rn's and some lpn's but its a pain to find them. i have several books....i could start a library!!!
  6. just wanted to say thanks to you all...after that frustration...there was much more..leading me not to be online and discuss...had to take another way to relax and vent etc...i think i found my way because i am making it!!! only 18 days until graduation on the 20th......then its state boards, but i know i will have atleast a weeks worth of doing absolutley nothing!!! its been fun! (haha) good luck to all of you out there...starting.....i am here if you need to vent! and yes...the laundry doesnt get done, dinner is best at mcdonalds, showering you do that at 3 am before you goto bed and then wake up at 6.....uniforms...iron them??? who says....its a fun life!!! nursing n 2004
  7. i have several fellow students that work for delmar as cna's they did get their training through them, and if you work there long enough "i hear" that they help you wout w/ your tuition. also, recommend st. anthony's hospital. they will hire you and train you, and while in school you can work (when you have time) as a student nurse. i "hear" they have greeeattt pay and benefits! i did my clinicals there and it was probably the best experience! good luck 18 more days til graduation......can i breath yet? nursing n 2004
  8. hi, i am freaking out here!!!! i graduate in 18 days, and still cannot find an actual nclex pn-review course (like at a school, etc) to take...i hear its the best thing to do before taking your boards, but i cannot seem to find one.....i am willing to pay however much, so if you know of any, please let me know or anything else that you can give for advice...i have been making calls to the mo. state board, nclex, kaplan, everuthing...but seems as if no one has lpn classes???? (whats up w/ that). thanks for your time, i will try to breath now! nursing n 2004
  9. ......its last semester...i am going out of my mind. dishes are dirty, laundry is behind..........kids driving me nuts, fiance wanna punch him....will these feelings ever go away???? i feel like i am going off the deep end.....how do i end this? lol tell me it will go away please tell me..its always "mommy this" and mommy that or chelle this or chelle that just as i am studing for a test over 4 chapters...ugh help me vent! pleasssssssssssssseeeeeeee :angryfire ....lpn student going nuts.....
  10. hey..i am in my last semester of the lpn program and i have to say, most that i come into contact to, no offense to rn's and up, but they always have an attitude, like we do not learn enough or etc. i just blow it off, because our instructors (all rn's w/ bsn's or msn's one is a physicians assistant) state that we are going to have almost as much knowledge as they do. our nurse practice act just states what we are allowed to do. i understand that over time, we will learn alot more, and continuing onto rn that we will know even more......but this is not any reason to give us the shaft. i believe that all nurses should be estatic to see new nurses, or nursing students-----less patients for them due to the shortage! all i can say is.....keep your head up...remember the cause!!! just thought i would add my 2 cents good luck! michelle
  11. :) thank you so much!!!! i really appreciate your insight. i have a friend whose mother, that i am also close too, that has been a dialysis nurse for years and years...said that they would love for me to come work there when i am finished. i am trying to find out if i can "shadow" there and see if i would like it and be at any help!!! i can do anything its just finding where i would be most useful.....not sure if i should be so undecided where to go..............................but lately i am! thanks again :) michelle
  12. hello, i am new to this board. but i have several questions! (of course) i graduate in august of this year, and have been trying to decide which field of nursing i would like to go into. wondering if any of you can give me some input on the dialysis side. i have had several pts on it, and i really would love to be a dialysis nurse, but want the scoop first! pay doesnt matter, but always want to know, what strengths you should possess....etc...anything if you feel like responding!! thank you so much!!!!!! chelle "there is a light at the end of the tunnel....mine is comming soon"
