I just want to ask if anyone in this forum who has a proirity date of August. Mine was August 1, 2006 and was filed in Nebraska visa center and up to now there's no approval yet. I'm just worried there might be a problem in my papers. Thanks.

Hi kingmig

I am in the same boat but we should wait a little bit longer since our file was filed by Nebraska.Mine was filed in October.

We should be fine because processing time is still far from August.

Nebraska is a bit slower than Texas. My friend's I-140 was only approved last Dec. 22 and her petition was filed sometime June-July of 2006.

You can expect yours to be approved anytime soon.

thanks for the replies.Hope my I-140 will be approved soon.

I think we are n d same boat. My papers were filied in new york. My priority date is oct,2006. I think we have to wait till the congress open the I-140 visa again for nurses. I heard all have been use up.

I-140 processing continues no matter what. Even during retrogression.

Only diff. is if one will be doing AOS or CP. If AOS, only the I-140 is allowed to be filed and AOS and EAD cannot be filed. If Consular processing, everything continues up to packet 3.

There is no New York Service Center. Never had. All East Coast States were previously filed to Vermont Service Center but now ALL I-140 petitions are filed in Nebraska and it may be transferred to Texas Service Center or remain in Nebraska. Only Nebraska and Texas Service Center process the I-140 now.

You should clear this up w/ your lawyer or employer/agency. They should have given you your Notice of Receipt. You should ask for it. If it starts with LIN-xxxx then it's Nebarska and if it's SRC-xxxxxx then its Texas.

oh!! That's greek to me. I haven't heard any of that AOS and CP. Can you tell me more about it. Im a nurse working in the philippines. Last month I received a letter from national visa center that all the I-140 visas will not available. The reason for the delay is that there are more applicants for visas than there are immigrant visa numbers available in this category under the limitation prescribed by law.

Please give me more information. thanks

AOS is only applicible if already in the US. You are in the Phillipines so best thing is continue your application to packet 3 and then when visas are aval you will then continue on your journey.

The letter i RECEIVED CAME FROM nATIONAL vISA cENTER, rOCHESTER aVENUE, pORTSMOUTH, NH. The letter pertains to visa pettion. It states that visa numbers are not currently available for the visa category of nurses. The reason is that all had been use up. Do you have any idea when will the visa be available again?

You're on packet 3 already. You're already beyond I-140. Read what I posted on your other thread. Congrats!!
