I just can't believe it. This summer has flown by so fast, last night was my last night of having a life. Lol. I made sure that it was fun, needless to say we didn't get back till six this morning. Lol. From now on nursing school is going to consume my free time, but I am so ready for the challenge. Let's do this:D

Update: I got kicked out of the program because my drug test showed up positive for THC. I tried marijuana for the first time about 3.5 weeks ago.

Kayruhh,

I am sorry to hear that you got kicked out because you were tested positive. I and others as well are in absolutely no position to judge you or the decision(s) you willingly decide to take.

However, I will hope that you find a way to choose the right path in life and may you have the wisdom, courage and determination to pursue a career for yourself in order to live a prosperous yet happy life. By commiting wrong decisions in life will get you NO WHERE but infact will make you fall even more day by day...I hope you will make the right decisions for your future endeavors. It is so important that we, not only you, take everything serious in life specially when it comes to our career decisions because it molds who we are as individuals and is the main foundation in our lives that helps keeps us living day by day. By engaging yourself in unnecessary decision making and innappropriate or unacceptable behavior will only prove to be troublesome for you later in life or much sooner than you'd expect it to be.

This is all I am going to say to you and I sincerely hope that you understood what I told you.

Best of luck to you...I am so sensitive to your pain.

Absolutely...and she can always apply again if she wants too:)

Sorry to hear that especially after everything you went through to get into the program. At times its hard to fight temptations but its important to think before acting and it could make a difference, and think about the consequences. We all make mistakes just use this experience and learn from it and keep going and don't beat yourself up about it. You won't believe how many people who are prenursing students who were in my A&P class or other classes, who wanted to know if there was going to be a drug test because they used to smoke regularly, and to my suprise it was mainly women in there late 40's asking! So no matter the age group or who we are we all do things or have done something were not proud of So don't feel bad, you can always reapply.

Not trying to be an insensitive b@#$% here, but maybe its for the best. Something just does not add up to me here. Anyone here knows that anyone who is seriously attending nursing school that your conduct and behavior both in and out of school can be questioned and you are held accountable for your actions. You knew what you were doing, and now you face the consequences. Nurses and students have a moral and ethical obligation to uphold standards. Whether you are trolling or if this was a serious post, I hope you get help. I do believe in second chances but if you continue down this road again, don't expect a third one. Good luck.

I see a few comments about re-applying...

Would a school re-accept a student that was removed from the program for this kind of reason?

Not sure, but its worth a try, and I wonder if that would considered a first attempt?

Wow. Bad first day.

Curious why you tried it for the first time before school started when you knew you could be tested? Willing to bet the school has heard the "first time" argument before.

I don't know how this will impact the future or of the school reports into the BON.

And just because some people use doesn't make it ethically or legally right, unless they are prescribed it.
