...to take a position at another hospital. Boy, did it feel awesome! Any resignation stories to share? Mine was fairly run-of-the-mill, but the look of surprise on my director's face was pretty satisfying (is my bitterness showing?).

i worked in a medical billing office that made drastic changes over a few months. as the screen saver on my computer, i typed in "i quit" and left a piece of paper taped over the monitor with the superviser's name on it so she would see it and look under it when she came in later that day.
excellent!

I looked through my facility's on-line policy manual and I couldn't find a policy regarding resignation. I was informed that a general rule of thumb is the number of vacation weeks I get determines the number of weeks of my resignation. So if I only get one week of vacation per year, that means I turn in a one week notice. Has anyone heard of this?

1st time I met my new manager I handed her my 3 week notice. I felt horrible that she had to deal with that the first time that I met her. She didnt know what to say. I was shocked when she called 15 minutes later and wanted to ask where I was going, why I was leaving etc etc. She was very nice about all of it. Even though I was supposed to transfer to another unit shortly, she didnt think I would be quitting.
