I resigned today...

Published

...to take a position at another hospital. Boy, did it feel awesome! Any resignation stories to share? Mine was fairly run-of-the-mill, but the look of surprise on my director's face was pretty satisfying (is my bitterness showing?).

I resigned after suffering for a year with lateral violence.

I asked my manager why she did not have the strength/guts to support me.

Her silence spoke volumes.

Moved on to bigger and better things!

Good luck.

Walked in one day and I signed the paperwork in HR. I then went up to my locker and removed my belongings. I had that locker for 16 yrs. I left while on maternity leave. Everyone was so busy they didn't even notice I had quit. Pretty darn sad...

I resigned my last job 3 weeks ago. I put OT in for them whenever they needed it, worked every holiday, was one of the most flexible staff.

I handed my badge over and she just took it and turned to her computer.

Glad I went into case management. Hospitals do not look out for you at all nor appreciate you.

im considering...i am tired of unfulfilled promises...and i don't make waves often if at all....hope you like the job you find!

sometimes we are not appreciated as much as we hope we are and yes, this is sad that nurses, esp great ones are expendible and replaceable :(

this happens everywhere! and it is very sad

Lucky for you, you still got to work at another hospital... I guess for me, it's either resign soon after my unpaid leave is over, or get to work at the miserable place... again!! :(

I do not have a personal story. My friend who has been a nurse for 17 years recently quit her job. The place had turned quite toxic over a course of one year. She applied for another job, and within weeks obtained a new position. Upon learning of her new position, she placed a "text", yes a "text" to the DON stating " I am done as of tonight, I will not be in tomorrow, nor next week, or ever" This is the first time she has done this. She has always played by the rules, and given her 2 weeks notice.

a friend of mine had just been named my supervisor, and her first day was the day that i learned another job had been offered me at a 40% raise (that is not a typo-- forty percent). i went in to congratulate her and then said, "i'm leaving." she was shocked. but i told her not to take it personally and we are still friends.

i worked in a medical billing office that made drastic changes over a few months. as the screen saver on my computer, i typed in "i quit" and left a piece of paper taped over the monitor with the superviser's name on it so she would see it and look under it when she came in later that day. :smokin:

I also changed a other hospital in past 3 months

I'm a new staff in current hospital , a lot of things need to learn .. but i like
