I have seen TONS of people who have said "nursing is my second, third or fourth career." As I have become more and more curious I was wanting to start a thread to see what areas and walks of life all the nurses and student nurses had before embarking on this incredible medical journey.

I will go first.

Avionics technician, U.S. Navy Reserve

Sprinkler installer/foreman

Pizza delivery guy

Landscaper

Medical Transcriptionist (still do this today)

Systems administrator

I usually have several of these jobs at a time. Currently only a medical transcriptionist while going to school

I was a soldier (mechanic) in the Army before I wanted to become a nurse. Currently work at Best Buy and will start nursing school (clinicals) in January.
