I was picked in the lottery!!!

O M G, I am soooo happy right now! Out of 585 applications, my name came up in the first 100, which means I should get into Spring 2014 at CCSF (they pick 50 for fall; 50 for spring). Nothing's set in stone until I get the official letter, but I'm still going to celebrate!!!

Nothing in the mail for me yet either. I'm thinking I might get something by next week. Not knowing anything is driving me nuts!

hey guys, i applied to ccsf nursing and i am # 60's on the waiting list. Still waiting to receive my letter, i am a bit nervous of how they qualify students. Meanwhile i am taking my TEAS v test next week so that i can be on top of the game. Has anyone heard anything yet?

Omg #60s is awesome, congrats! I'm in the #120s. I was nervous on how they qualify ppl too so I went and talked to them in person. They told me to just wait for my letter, which will be sent starting this week (so I'm thinking it should arrive by next week). They told me they will give me directions for TEAS V in the letter too. They will offer the test through CCSF. I was going to take it now at SFSU, but when they heard I was going to do that they said to cancel it and take it through them. They also said if I make the list then I would be taking it around May. But, I don't know if they want me to wait because I'm not in the top 100 or if they just want to make sure the test is taken through them or what. You may be okay taking the test now since you know you are going to be selected for sure assuming you meet the requirements. Anyway, they also hinted saying that they want to get at least the first 150 qualified applicants notified soon. Whatever that means. Good luck on your TEAS V! Thanks for the info lauraline! I hope I dont miss an orientation I am going out of country to volunteer in May for healthcare. I have already taken the TEAS V though so I am sure it is okay. :nailbiting:

I will be out if the country in June. Hopefully we won't miss anything.

Is CCSF going to be your top choice? What are your plans going to be this Summer before classes start?

I'm not sure what I should do if I have to wait until Spring '14 to start! (Assuming I am even offered a spot that is.)

I also took the TEAS V already because NVC requires taking it before applying. If you did well in your pre-reqs, you'll do fine on the TEAS. However, using the ATI study manual is the way to go. It will prepare you perfectly for what to expect with only moderate studying. I didn't find the test too difficult. Good luck!

Hey guys! Does anyone know how they decide when you start? Is it the first 50 fall and second 50 spring? Assuming teas goes well.. Haha.

That was my impression... first 50 for fall, and the second 50 for spring. when are you taking your TEAS? i am taking mine this Saturday, super nervous about it.

Cool. Not sure yet? The girl that works there told me to wait for a letter in the mail... It tell us when we need to get it done by?
